Source Says Mike Leach Told Trainer To 'Put James In Darkest, Tightest Spot'
Apparently Mike Leach will not coach the Texas Tech Red Raiders versus MSU in the Alamo Bowl. This shocking development came after Craig James' son Adam, a TT players, complained about being locked in a room for hours because he didn't want to practice after sustaining an injury, which was possibly a concussion.
Leach instructed others to place James in the darkest, tightest spot imaginable, something James didn't take well.
Will this spur on the Spartans? Will no Leach equal worse playcalling for the Alamo Bowl? Will the Red Raiders team descend into chaos amidst this controversy?
And in other news...Brian Kelly, Urban Meyer [edit: Meyer will physically be on the sideline. Mentally? Your guess is as good as ours], and Mike Leach. A long list of major high profile coaches who will not be on the sidelines this Bowl season.

This story is too much to believe. I cannot imagine how Leach thought this sort of thing wouldn’t get out.
It seems likely that Leach is a dead man walking now that this has happened. I wonder if they’re just postponing the inevitable to avoid more of a distraction for the upcoming game.
i read the Double TT comment thread
there are about 3 factors at play
- the TT admin doesn’t like Leach, never has
- Leach could have ended all this by apologizing to James, but refused to, so the school suspended him
- it’s crazy to suspend him while the investigation is ongoing, so Leach’s lawyer is threatening legal action

From a selfish perspective, I’m just wondering how this will impact the Spartans. Usually, this sort of thing either causes the players to rally around the coach or to quit a little bit. I didn’t really get a sense from Double T whether they think the players love or hate Leach.
