Now that you've finally finished scrubbing the sticky beer rings off of the coffee table, and vacuuming the broken pretzel pieces out of the carpet, it's time for another round of celebration. Ladies and gentlemen, the results of Week 1 of the Obligatory Predictions Competition are in.

Not surprisingly, things were pretty even out of the gate. Hats off to our Week 1 winner PaternosGranddaughter, who was the only contestant to go 5 for 5 on picks. Her perfect prescience earns her the right to say 500 words about anything she wants on the main page of the site. (E-Mail us your salvo).

I may have had both the best and worst predictions of the whole group: Oklahoma State by 14 (exactly right), and Illinois by 18 (only off by … 46 points).

Yay, not last!

I think maybe you should give the last place contestant each week some kind of booby prize…could be a fun addition to the OPC. (I say this because I expect full well to be in that position multiple times during the course of the season).
