Around SBN: Stan Van Gundy Fired As Head Coach Of The Magic

Iowa continues it's streak of 8 consecutive years with an RB suffering a season ending injury. Jewel Hampton is done after ripping the ACL on his good knee.

While normally, this would elevate Paki O'Meara back onto the depth chart, Saturday's concussion likely keeps him out at least one game. Adam Robinson's load just got a lot heavier...

Well its not AWFUL. At least their bye is coming up, I know its not going to change the fact that they lost Hampton for the season but its time to figure stuff out.

It becomes

a question of depth. Adam Robinson can hold his own as a 1st String Back. But when he gets hurt – Because he will. They all will – Iowa is left with 1) moving a fullback to RB; 2) pulling the redshirt off a frosh is recovering from a broken collarbone; or 3) pulling the redshirt off of a frosh who is recovering from his own ACL tear during his Senior year in HS.

In other words, we’re going t be running more 5 wides.

Saturday October 16th against Iowa

One week after he meets with Greg Jones and MSU and takes a beating.

When asked why he went for 5, Tate responded "..because I couldn't go for 6...".

So he’s going to get hurt when Iowa plays themselves?

I don't understand the question

UM play MSU 10/9 – he gets weakened

UM plays Iowa 10/16 – out of game

When asked why he went for 5, Tate responded "..because I couldn't go for 6...".

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I see.

Sorry, I’ve been so used to talking about Velcro getting run in to the ground that I automatically think of him when I hear/read Robinson.

Fair enough. I bet he starts getting banged up against MSU. I think Jones will make him think twice before running on every third play.

At this point in the season

you can quit calling him Robinson (Denard that is) and start calling him Heisman. The other Robinson can be referred to as a college fund for a surgeon’s kid.

That WAS the Terrelle Pryor school of thought...

Until Tressel developed him into a cold-blooded killer of a QB who’d hit 16 receivers in a row and then toss in a couple of INTs. Just for kicks, you know…

Maybe Koa Misi and Jared Odrick would be Patriots if Bill Parcells wasn't Comedic.Sans's father...

TP has about 6" and 50+ lbs on Velcro

Velcro is the size of a DB, easily dinged.

Yes...

And Pryor’s a much, much better possession receiver too.

WTF do you mean offensive pass interference? Did the zebras just give the game to Texas again?

i like the pay call the first time

not so much the 2nd.

kinda felt bad for that 5’9" DB… until I didn’t.

That game was a robbery in its lowest form.

Yeah, Anderson Russell sucked, but for Boeckman the Buckeyes would have won.

ehh I don't blame anderson russell

he was out of position due to the defensive play that was called. i’m not one of the billion fans that bags on him.

Little known fact:

Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City? It was built over the remains of Jim Thorpe.

You know — an Indian running back’s burial ground. No wonder they have problems.

Although he might have been “Co-starters” with Robinson.
