The Behind the Scenes Fight between Jim Delaney and Mark Hollis
Given the source, and the high number of anonymous sources, I cannot say I know any of this is true. I believe that at least some of it is.
No matter that, this is definitely an entertaining read.

Very interesting
although it reads a bit paranoid/conspiracy-theory style. There’s certainly enough of a perception of favoritism toward certain teams (which the delayed suspensions of the Tat 5 did absolutely nothing to dispel) that it’s not completely ludicrous – which in itself is a serious indictment of the conference office.

Eh, it's done now
But that article glosses over quite a bit. It wasn’t just the punch, it was Gholston also getting caught on tape twisting Denard’s helmet on another play long after the whistle – and on a play where he had a James Laurinitis-like late arrival to to the pile. There was an OSU player last year or the year before that was suspended for similar conduct versus Illinois, and he hadn’t even been flagged on the play as I recall.
I don’t know whether Gholston is a thuggish player, and I have no reason to believe this wasn’t an isolated incident related to the game against a hated rival. Doesn’t change the fact that he absolutely deserved to be suspended for a game. Just because someone else may be guilty and gets away with it doesn’t mean we open up the prisons and let everyone else out.

That was Kurt Coleman
it was a helmet to helmet hit where the receiver lowered his body while Coleman was in the air, and I’m pretty sure he was flagged for the hit. He was suspended the next game for being caught on tape laughing on the sideline with a teammate a couple plays later.

Paranoia run amok
And, no, this isn’t the first time Dantonio has been questioned about thuggish play.
I know for a fact that the Iowa coaching staff was very upset at his boorish behavior of berating the officials while standing over the unconscious body of Colin Sandeman in the “7 got 6” game a couple years ago.
Was Ferentz irritated about Rucker playing two days removed from jail?
I got a distinct “F You” vibe during the game Iowa called last year.

I am a Big ten fan, but I hate Jim Delany.
Jim Delany is running the big ten like Kim Jong IL or the Chinese communist party. He is an old cahoot and it was pathetic that he decided to stand up only for OSU and UM. Those are the biggest names in college football and it involves a lot more money. I am sure this is not the only time we are going to end up with a situation like this. This guy is the single reason why we wont have playoffs in football but ultimately this guy should be removed and we can head towards playoffs.I am not a big Delany fan.He might be brilliant by initiating the BTN, but at the same time he is an arrogant, old man who enjoys power.
Wow. MSU fans trying to defend Gholston...
… are worse than OSU fans trying to defend Tressel.
Guys, let me give you a little piece of advice: you’re not going to win this argument. Even if you think you have an argument, you don’t. You’ll get shouted down by the other eleven fanbases.

Wait a second here
people are still trying to defend Tressel? Seriously?

I'm not defending him
and I think he absolutely deserved a game off. None of that contradicts the idea that it was handled poorly.
