Better Trophy Names

Everyone has been complaining about the B10′s trophy names.  I decided to step up and offer the "correct" names. The current names and bios of each person are at:
http://www.bigten.org/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/121310aaa.html

1. Divisions (needed for CCG engraving) – Legends and Leaders
2. CCG winner – Stagg
3. CCG MVP – Grange-Griffin
4. Postgrad leadership – Ford-Kinnick
5. Postgrad humanitarian – Dungy-Thompson
6. Offensive POY – Graham-George
7. Defensive POY – Nagurski-Woodson
8. COY – Hayes-Schembechler
9. Frosh – Thompson-Randle El
10. OL – Rimington-Pace
11. DL – Smith-Brown
12. QB – Griese-Brees
13. RB – Ameche-Dayne
14. DB – Tatum-Woodson
15. LB – Butkus-Fitzgerald
16. WR – Richter-Howard
17. TE – Kwalick-Clark
18. K – Bakken-Andersen
19. P – Eddleman-Fields

That's what we have, and frankly they suck.  My suggestions are after the jump.

First, that is way too many trophies. I’d kill the postgrad awards since you really can’t determine who deserves those. Second, I’d drop to one name per trophy.  I'll still get each school at least 1 mention.

My choices with brief explanations:

1. Divisions (needed for CCG engraving) – Legends and Leaders
Northwest and Southeast – pretty accurate and not pretentious

2. CCG winner – Stagg
Stagg (UC) – I like having this not be labelled after any of the competing teams

3. CCG MVP – Grange-Griffin
Grange (IL) – Has anyone ever had a better game than he did against MI in 1924?

4. Postgrad leadership – Ford-Kinnick
eliminate (otherwise, Ford (MI) – POTUS tops any other leadership)

5. Postgrad humanitarian – Dungy-Thompson
eliminate (otherwise, Dungy (MN) for lack of a better choice)

6. Offensive POY – Graham-George
Graham (NW) – Otto was too good not to be recognized

7. Defensive POY – Nagurski-Woodson
Nagurski (MN) – the national award is named after him

8. COY – Hayes-Schembechler
Hayes-Schembechler (OSU/MI) – these two belong together and the game was so different for the earlier guys (Yost, Bierman, etc), plus they both lead in B10 titles for a coach

9. Frosh – Thompson-Randle El
Taliaferro (IN) – George was their leading rusher as a freshmen as he led IN to their first undefeated season and first B10 title (of 2 total). He also was the first African American drafted by the NFL. Plus, IN needed someone and he seems more fitting than Randel El.

10. OL – Rimington-Pace
Rimington (NE) – a national award is named after him

11. DL – Smith-Brown
Smith (MSU) – most famous DL from the B10

12. QB – Griese-Brees
Griese (PU) – not a lot of great QBs to choose from, but Griese won the Rose Bowl at Purdue

13. RB – Ameche-Dayne
Griffin (OSU) – 2 Heismans

14. DB – Tatum-Woodson
Woodson (MI) – Heisman as a DB is not easy

15. LB – Butkus-Fitzgerald
Butkus (IL) – needs no explanation

16. WR – Richter-Howard
Richter (WI) – WI needed someone (I was leaning towards Johnny Rodgers over AC)

17. TE – Kwalick-Clark
Kwalick (PSU) – 1 of only 2 CFB HOFers at TE for the B10 and PSU deserves somebody

18. K – Bakken-Andersen
Groza (OSU) – the national award is named after him

19. P – Eddleman-Fields
Roby (IA) – Reggie is the B10′s career average leader and lead the nation twice

Which ones am I wrong about?  Am I missing someone obvious?
