Looks like Toledo coach Tim Beckman is going to be announced as the new head coach Friday. Get ready for some MACtion.

There were rumors
That Purdue was going to can Hope and pursue Beckman. I would rather have Beckman. Oh well.

Doesn't sound good for Penn State...
The big question is, of course, what type of sanctions the Big Ten is willing to impose on Penn State if it doesn’t like the results of these investigations. Rumors have circulated that at least a few league schools were so angry and disgusted by the Jerry Sandusky sex-abuse scandal that they lobbied to kick Penn State out of the Big Ten altogether, and the Nittany Lions don’t have the kind of history with the league that would make that impossible.

With all due respect…LOL yeah ok.
I suspect any sanctions levied on PSU by the Big 10, in the rare event they actually are handed down, will focus on punishing the administration. I don’t know if the Big 10 has the power to demand an organizational restructuring of a member university’s administration, but I’d imagine it could go along the lines of “FFS, get yourself a new Board of Trustees because those clowns you have now are incompetent at best, nefarious criminals at worst. Do it, or we bring the pain.” And really, I’d be ok with that.

I will believe this happened when hard evidence supports it
Until then, call me skeptical on Big Ten administrators being so stupid as to call for a break with Penn State over this.

Now is the time for solidarity not division
We have a conference member that has major problems. It will take years for them to get to the other side but once they do we’ll all be the better for it.
Our COP/C should be asking what assistance can be provided by the league. That is how the B1G gets stronger and enables us to be around in another 115 years.

I initially read this as "Boeckman"
What’s surprising to me is how un-surprised I was at the possibility of Illinois naming Todd Boeckman head coach.
