Rest in Peace, Murray Warmath

The last man to lead the Minnesota Golden Gophers to 1) A Big Ten Title; 2) a Rose Bowl; and 3) a National Title died yesterday. His name was Murray Warmath, and he was 98 years old. Trained under General Neyland at Tennessee and a veteran of World War II, Warmath is one of the greats of Big Ten coaches. Sadly, the dilapidation of the Minnesota football program in the forty years since his retirement has assisted in seeing his name fade away.
