The 9 Game B1G Schedule - It's Coming

57

Purdue has done some rearranging to their future non-con schedule, at the B1G's request. The reason: to free itself up to play nine conference games starting in 2017. Of interest to Badger and Hawkeye fans, Purdue AD Morgan Burke says that a second permanent rival will not be added. "That hasn’t been talked about," Burke said of adding a second crossover game. "They’ll speed up the (schedule rotation)." Instead of playing three games against the other division, teams would play four in addition to the five within the division. This would lead to schools playing all five of the non-permanent rival teams in the other division four times in six seasons.
