Nebraska Admits to NCAA Violations
On the "Is it a big deal" scale, this falls far below Ohio State's ongoing drama. However, Nebraska did fess up to providing almost $28,000 (under a recouped asset accounting method) in improper benefits to athletes from 2007-10. The school imposed a two-year probationary period, as well as a $28,000 fine upon itself. Of course, the NCAA will have the final say as to penalties. It should be noted that Alabama forfeited wins in multiple sports in 2006 and 2007 when athletes were using textbooks to receive improper benefits.
