B1G 2011//OSU Hate Thread: It's Just Too Easy This Year
Cheaters. Liars. Arrogant, above the law minded bureaucrats. Arrogant, above the law minded players.
And it's all coming back to haunt the Bucks.
We don't even need a Rivalry piece this week. Why spend energy hating OSU when you can just wallow in their downfall? We have today's news. And August's impending NCAA decision. And TresselGate. And Pryor taking his talents to...somewhere else.
So please, OTE writers, readers, and visitors...Tell us what you really think of THE Ohio State University. Tell us what it's like to be smashed yearly by a team that cheated the entire time. Tell us what your plans are for celebrating a (much more) probable win over the Buckeye's in 2011.

That's not true.
They played Wisconsin. Ohio State finished 0-1.

And I'll note.....
…that the 2010 Buckeyes are now the least impressive 1-loss team in history.

It’s easy for me to hate a team that is just plain better than mine. I can’t scrape up much resentment for a team that has been proven to break the rules to achieve an advantage.

We expected more from you, we thought you were mature enough to handle the situation but apparently you’re not. I hope you understand why you’re being sent to your room without supper. Hopefully when you get out you’ll be a little wiser and a little better behaved.

So what you're really saying
is that Purdue went 16-8 last year?
In the name of the Woody, the Bo, and the Mustache Ride. Amen.
Man... If this is the 'hate' we get in the B1G, I'm all in
Seriously, I’m rational, but when given the chance to tear into another person’s team… more could be done. For example, even as an outsider to the hate (We just don’t have history with OSU for me to care), I could point out the absolute joy in watching tOSU wallow in misery and exclaim from the rooftops, “Why us? We’re innocent!” Or, we could talk about the overwhelming happiness we will all have in watching the NCAA infractions committee tear the compliance department a new one for not realizing their STAR QB was receiving extra benefits. While this might all be rehash, that’s the beauty of it all. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. If I’m a Michigan fan (man?) I’m going to go ahead and scream it from the rooftops that Ohio State is nothing but a cutrate, cheating, miserable excuse for a university, organization that can’t even cheat correctly (I promise every major university in the midwest is cheating. There is NO reason to choose a B1G school over the ocean. If you’re a 4* prospect and are greeted by USC song girls and chose Columbus, you were getting paid).
Of course, that’s maybe the most fascinating thing about the B1G so far. While Iowa has proven they are more than worthy of their title as, “Iowa – we hate everyone” the congeniality and decorum has been somewhat of a letdown. With a conference history just longer than Paterno’s lifespan, I’d expect some quality hatred coming down the pipeline. If, for example, Nebraska had something like this happen, I promise Mizzou, Kansas, K-State, Colorado, Iowa State, Oklahoma, and even Oklahoma State could produce some quality hatred about how we went from “The Nebraska Way” to trash. I expect you all to do the same (Note: I do not expect this to happen to Nebraska, and I pray to God it doesn’t, but in such case… Well, I expect nothing but full-on hatred from everyone. That’s what makes it fun).
I’m looking for one-liners about the trash in Columbus, pictures of Tressel as Satan, arguments that tOSU would never have been good if they hadn’t cheated (which is crap, but this is hate day), verbal assaults that make baby kittens cry, and unabashed vitriol that is saved only for rivalry week. Greatest rivalry in all of football? It is hard for me to say that it still exists if this is all you could muster. So lets ramp this thing up!!! Live up to your (my) expectations. Entertain me.

First of all
Shut up, Nebraska fan.
Second, the last 9 months or so have left us all a bit exhausted. Day in and day out, we’ve been beating the bloated corpse of Ohio State football. Like Foreman wailing away on Ali (Parkinson’s edition), we’re gassed. I daresay we’ve managed to float the hate keg that we never thought would run dry.

That was the most hate-filled thing I’ve heard all day, and I’m glad my rant could get that out of you. I really am not as pretentious as that post sounded, but come on, I was excited for this day. And a lot of us don’t like jO$U. So there’s that as well. The Wisconsin Badgers fans will give Buckeyes fans all kinds of grief here because of what happened last October in Camp Randall Stadium with jO$U was ranked as #1.

I think you missed my point
In hindsight, this sounded arrogant. Really, I was saying that you all just didn’t rip into each other as much as you claimed. I mean, you get all geared up for tearing each other apart and we end up with a) “Your team is so dumb, we don’t care” b) “Your team is so dumb, it’s easier not to say why” c) Your team is so dumb, I’ll let everyone else say why.
Still, I respectfully recant my previous post. Bitch at me all you want. The grief wasn’t meant to be widespread, it was more in surprise of the mild levels of hate I had come to expect.

That's a Sylvester the Cat quote.
"Many people need desperately to receive this message: 'I feel and think much as you do, care about many of the things you care about, although most people do not care about them. You are not alone.'"
dis what Wiki has to say....I guess we're both kind of right.
To emphasize the lisp, as with Daffy’s catchphrase “You’re desthpicable”, Sylvester’s trademark exclamation is “Sufferin’ succotash!”, which is said to be a minced oath of “Suffering Savior”. (Daffy also says “Sufferin’ succotash!” from time to time.)

tOSU should be ousted from the B1G!
Not really, but…
/begin sarcastic rant
I read somewhere that MSU was the worst 11-2 team (as a Spartan, I’d gladly take a deplorable 11 wins any time).
What stuck in my craw most over last year was hearing how my team hadn’t proven anything because MSU did not play that loathsome team from down south. (We did beat that other loathsome team from down south, but it doesn’t count for anything anymore :( )
I’ll concede the point, but I would like to point out the following: Ohio State NEVER plays Ohio State! (No the spring game doesn’t count.) They NEVER play anyone good! They play the rest of the Big Ten… and they all suck!
This is patently unfair! Redacted wins aside, when was the last time tOSU beat anyone good? They’re dragging down the league! We as a conference should end this unholy marriage forthwith!
/end sarcastic rant
/end hate
/end abandonment of reason and decorum
Whew! I feel better now. I’m glad I got that out. Thank goodness for hate threads!
The sideline is always greener at MSU.

Actually that's quite professional, dare I even say "senatorial"
I.e., spend a lot of time and effort covering-up what is, at its base, a rather minor offense; one that, if found out about, would cause a few days discomfort then be forgotten about. Then have the cover-up completely take over, leading to more and more lies that, when finally discovered, force you to resign in disgrace. See e.g. Nixon, Richard; Weiner, Anthony; Ensign, John; Tressel, Jim.
I ate the blue ones ... they taste like burning.
Yes, senatorial.
But not professional. Professionalism and politics aren’t really the same, because professionalism would mean hard work and merit to overcome weakness, whereas current politics seems to be all about minimizing risk and bad publicity.

Didn't Pikachu give a bunch Japanese kids epilepsy back in like 1997?
Because of his blinking eyes, I think… or something. So I think it can happen.
I just didn’t expect Stephen Colbert to be the source.
He did.
Porygon got the blame for that, which is kinda unfair considering it was Pikachu’s attack that caused the seizures.

I don't hate Ohio State as much as I hate Michigan.
Maybe that’s because while Michigan put up some really stupid, infuriating wins over Wisconsin early in the decade and the 1990s, Ohio State was NOT getting those stupid, infuriating wins.
Seriously, Michigan-Wisconsin games from 1996 to 2002 make me want to vomit.
Ohio State, I’m sorry to say that you’re outdone as far as earning my hatred. Your rival is better in that regard…

I respect the hell out of Wisconsin
They have been the toughest out in the Tressel era for OSU, hands down.
"Lord I pray for the eyes of an eagle, the heart of a lion and the balls of a combat helicopter pilot."
The 2006 game was the last time I truly and purely hated Ohio State. Because it was the last time my UM guys were worthy.
Since 2007, what’s the point of hating OSU? We had a hard time with Indiana! We couldn’t beat the Little Sisters of the Poor’s little sister, Appy State.
But hey, the band’s good.
For nearly four years, Michigan football has been entirely irrelevant, except for two delicious bright spots: the beatdown of Tebow/Florida, and of course the Great Unlikely Comeback against Wisconsin, done with what for all intents and purposes was a Pop Warner team wearing Michigan uniforms.
But I mean, celebrating a win over Wiscy, a team that when I was at UM was a guaranteed and not so entertaining victory? Close games against Indiana? Losing 3 to Michigan f’ing State?
No. It’s hard to get my hate on for OSU when our biggest rival is probably Purdue. It’s like running into your ex wife as you’re being escorted out of your office by security with a cardboard box with all of your pitiful stuff in it.
Maybe this year Michigan will field a team that can fuel a little hate. But that remains to be seen.
This is utterly disappointing. First there was the “Meh” post of last year, which is at least condescending enough to pass for some form of hate. Now, when the number of things to hate about Ohio State has grown to levels unsurpassed in any recent history… we get a “Yep, everyone hates Ohio state now, feel free to hate amongst yourselves” post? Ohio State has beaten Michigan how many years in a row now? And you can’t muster up any of that anger, frustration and bitterness, since you now know they haven’t been doing it on the up and up? I could write 3000 words of hate on Boise State from a TCU fan perspective effortlessly and we’ve only played them three times. This is the rivalry! Get Maize and Brew Dave over here, one of the Wolverine Liberation Army guys or let a Penn State blogger write this post next year and get some quality hate for the most easy to despise team in the B1G.

You’re right, of course. The ancient Egyptians and Romans hired professional mourners. Maybe we need some professional haters.
But what we REALLY need is a good, solid football team. I hope we have one soon.
Professional haters?
You mean iowa fans right? They more than qualify with their whole Mandlebaum’s on Seinfeld routines.

As for OSU? I hate Jim Tressel simply for two related reasons. 1. Wearing camouflage hat like a soldier 2. Resigning in disgrace on Memorial Day. I have never been enlisted; uncles on both side, maternal grandfather were. Going on basically a decade of two official wars now I get really irritated when anyone tries to equate ANY civilian role to that which protects the frontline of America’s freedom and greatness. Maybe I’m connecting dots never meant to be connected. Or Jim Tressel is a fraudvest fuckface who played NCAAFB like a skilled criminal right to the end.

No one has once stated that Jim Tressel is stupid, far from it. Matter of fact it’d be quite accurate to state ‘calculated’ as one of his top strengths. Knowing what we now know, via OSU, that Jim Tressel was the only source of rule breaking in the entire OSU football program I find it hard to believe that he didnt know long before May 31st his goose was cooked. Resigning on that particular day was a cheap and desperate ploy. Just my opinion.

Are you serious?
OSU admits it is a repeat offender. What it is arguing is that it should not have repeat offender penalties imposed. This is analogous to a plea deal in a criminal case: you admit that you did the crime and in return you’ll get a lesser punishment. Now, it remains to be seen whether the NCAA agrees, but one thing you can definitively say, it is that OSU is a “repeat offender” because the school itself says it is.
I ate the blue ones ... they taste like burning.
Please continue to ignore
the post below that clearly states that they refute the repeat violator claims. Please only take one part of the response and run with it. Ignore the fact that they acknowledge they are SUBJECT to, then clearly states they disagree with that assertion. They hardly admit they are a repeat offender. In fact they refute it. Nice try though.
You have absolutely no reading comprehension skills
Seriously. OSU states that it is a repeat offender, what it argues is that it should not be subject to repeat offender sanctions. Those are two completely separate issues and if you can’t see the difference, you really have no right posting as you are simply unwilling to be bound the reality in which we all live.
I ate the blue ones ... they taste like burning.
A loose analogy
If you kill someone, you’re a killer. If you argue that you did it under mitigating circumstances, you’re still a killer. You’re not arguing that you didn’t kill someone. You’re just asking the court to acquit or find you guilty of manslaughter instead of murder.
Lett's see if you follow this
Judge says to plaintiff- " do you understand the charges against you?"
Plaintiff to judge- " yes your honor i do".
Hoya steps in and says “see! He admitted he was guilty”
The plaintiff then tells the judge that he pleads NOT Guilty.
Got it?
What are you talking about?

Cheaters cheat. That's what cheaters do, they cheat.
Literacy and comprehension are required: I quoted directly from The Ohio State University 66 page release. OSU knows it qualifies as a repeat offender. Repeat cheater. But OSU doesn’t want to pay the repeat offender price. What cheater wants to pay the price? None. That’s why they cheat in the first place.

Qualify

I get your point.
OSU knows they can face repeat violator sanctions but don’t want to. How many times does a criminal request the maximum punishment? Of course OSU is positioning Tressel’s cover up as an isolated incident, all the while they know it’s not; at least by standards of the NCAA which I understand you don’t agree with. But they aren’t changing.
"GO HAWKS!" - only cure for Hawkeye Envy

Did you know
that of all the coaches found guilty of violation 10.1 (Tressel’s violation) have never resulted in the university losing scholarships? This includes former Cal coach Bozeman, who admitted to paying $30,000 to one of his players.
Bozeman got fired or resigned, IIRC.
If the NCAA does attribute most of the mis-deeds to Tressel, there is a possibility that OSU doesn’t get slapped too bad.
And, (yes, Biggy, I know you don’t agree with this next part, so I don’t really require another debate about it), that is why so many of us that believe OSU’s program is rather dirty, will be rather angry if they get off pretty much scott-free again. Because obviously, most OSU fans aren’t manning up and admitting that last year is vacated.
We will become more intensity!!! --What Reading Rambler thinks Tom Brands should do.

Vacated wins are stupid
They’re pointless. They are less than a slap on the wrist. They are hilarious. Does anyone find USC any less of a desirably location to attend class play football? No, recruits still want to go there, but postseason bowl bans? I think they do the trick. OSU’s already having issues keeping verbals because of the potential for postseason bans. If they actually get it, they could be set back drastically.
Skol!
Manning up
Is that even a word? I will readily admit that last season is absolutely vacated. I will absolutely admit that Coach Tressel lied and covered it up.
I found it very interesting that in cases where the coach violated 10.1 and did so without the knowledge of the administration that LOIC was not instituted. I wasn’t trying to argue or stir anything up. I simply found that interesting and thought someone else might too.
Quote the OSU response
Section 3(a)
As noted above, the institution acknowledges that the self-reported violations in this response are major. On March 10, 2006, the Division I Committee on Infractions issued an infractions report to the University that primarily involved the men’s basketball program. The report indicated that the University was subject to the provisions of NCAA Bylaw 19.5.2.3 for a five-year period, beginning on March 10, 2006. The major violations involving institutional responsibility in this case occurred in April of 2010 when Tressel should have reported that possible NCAA violations likely were committed, and he did not report such information to the appropriate institutional officials. As a result, the institution agrees it is subject to the repeat violator legislation.(emphasis added
But no, you’re right, we’re all just making assumptions from horribly biased sources like ESPN and OSU’s official response.
I ate the blue ones ... they taste like burning.
Ok, so maybe the official response said that
but it was re-reported by the media, and has therefore become false.
/biggy’d

Not gonig to hear anything from OSU
That bump they hit on the way to the NCAA meetings on Aug14 was Jim Tressel. But they certainly want to honor such a great man by allowing him to “retire” as opposed to kicking his ass out the door like they should have done. Pete Carroll 2.0.
OSU: The problems are gone now. The remaining players are suspended appropriately. Can we just move on….pretty pretty pretty please.
NCAA: ??? Ball or No-Balls…we will find out Aug14th
Skol!
I can see letting Tressel retire as opposed to resign
Yes, he cheated and played ineligible football players, and he really dragged the University’s name through the mud.
BUT…
He didn’t commit a felony, or even a misdemeanor. If you consider his entire body of work, the amount of money he has donated to charity over the years, and how he gave back to the community, I am okay with giving him a retirement.
"Lord I pray for the eyes of an eagle, the heart of a lion and the balls of a combat helicopter pilot."
But for all the good that he did
He’s at the dead center of the worst scandal in OSU’s existence(that i know of). How can that guy still be given even a little bit of praise walking out the door. Not to mention the fans that showed up on his doorstep to show the love they have for him. What is that? As an OSU fan, don’t you feel cheated by him as well? Do you even so much as respect the man? Maybe he did truly care for the guys on the team and wanted to “protect” them and some people can see that as noble, but the man protected them to WIN.
Skol!
I don't think he was praised walking out the door
He resigned in disgrace. I do feel cheated, and I’m angry at him because he made such a colossally stupid decision. It sucks for the 95% of the team that didn’t do anything wrong, because they’re going to have to pay for his sins, and the accomplishments of the seniors who left are forever tarnished.
But is it something you persecute a guy over forever and ever? We’re a forgiving society, and guys that have done much, much worse than Tressel were given retirements, pensions, whatever. I would’ve still made him pay the fine, but I’m not into kicking someone over and over. He broke NCAA rules and he’s paid for it with his job…his multi million dollar a year job, and he won’t be getting another one, probably ever.
Let him retire, get his pension, and move on. There’s football to play, and a program that needs to heal. This is part of that healing.
"Lord I pray for the eyes of an eagle, the heart of a lion and the balls of a combat helicopter pilot."
Two things
1. He didn’t resign, he was fired. Or, at least, that’s OSU’s story this week. It’s hard to garner much sympathy for the man or the institution when there has been a constantly shifting rationale for how the approach things, depending on what is most convenient that day. In Tressel, we’ve gone from OSU saying “I hope he doesn’t fire me” to “Coach Tressel has resigned because he believes it to be in the best interest of the school” to “It was a mutual decision” to where we are today: he was fired. And that’s on the administration, they have said/done only that which supported whatever the daily talking point was.
2. You don’t get to heal until you’ve paid the penalty. To date, OSU hasn’t. I think it is largely unfair that OSU will be made to pay for what appears to be the actions of a single person, but that is the nature of the beast. I’ve gotten quite sick of a number of OSU fans (and I’m not saying you are necessarily one of these) bitching and moaning about how we should all just move on because now we’re just dredging up “old shit”, you know, allegations from all of two months ago. Despite these fans’ insistence that OSU has already paid the price and we should move along, the fact is there has been no punishment yet at all. Until there is, any calls to move along or, no offense, start the healing process are wildly premature.

To be fair...
I believe Ted is talking about the university healing, not us bloggeroids. But I still disagree with the “let him bow out gracefully” or whatever you would call that kind of treatment. yes, we are a forgiving society, but IMO: #1) He only just recently started “feeling sorry” so if I’m an OSU fan, I’m not buying too much “sorry stock”. After all the lies, do you think the simple “now I’m sorry” should hold up? It doesn’t to me. Not much else you can do TO the guy, but it’s not like he’s really “taking the fall” for the program. It’s his fault. When he came out and admitted it, the University should have come out and stated their disappointment a little clearer. #2) He should DEFINITELY be paying the fine. Even the biggest Dennis Green hater thinks he got off the hook for that one.
But again, just an outsider looking in
Skol!
I think he should be water boarded!
After all he did make a mistake. One mistake makes him the world’s biggest scumbag ever! How dare the fans understand he is human! I can’t speak for everyone here, but I’m willing to bet that about 95% of the non-OSU fans on OTE think that the punishment OSU receives will be almost entirely resulting from Tressel’s repeated lying to the NCAA, and the tattoos are just a little seasoning on top. Let me be perfectly clear, since you seem completely incapable of understanding anything other than the simplest sentences: I think OSU will get fucksawed by the NCAA because Jim Tressel lied to the the NCAA on multiple occasions in an attempt to conceal the potential ineligibility of his players.
I ate the blue ones ... they taste like burning.
The difference is that
Iowa fans admit their players aren’t perfect, but recognize that their coach does make the players pay some consequences.
OSU fans think their players/coaches are perfect, and bury their head in the sand so that their players/coaches just get paid, and don’t face consequences until much later on (which makes them end up having to vacate wins).

On the one hand
I think this is a childish (and annoying) response to someone.
On the other hand, biggy has no interest other than throwing up red herrings and distractions to any and all discussions of OSU so that I think it is warranted. There is no point in actually trying to engage him (yet I do, because I love the feel of brick on my forehead as I repeatedly bash it against the wall, apparently), so your tactic may actually be the saner response.

Internet tough guy!
You want to personally attack me? You want to refer to me as a woman? If you want to debate B1G sports i’m all for it. If you want to cast personal attacks, i believe that is uncalled for. If sitting behind a computer and personally insulting someone while maturely calling someone else a bunch of cheaters makes you feel like a big man, then feel superior. Internet tough guy!
I'm not personally attacking you
unless what I said is true. I’m just saying that’s how I picture you. Not knowing what anyone looks like in real life, I picture different posters in different and sometimes hilarious ways.
I’m not saying you actually are a female goblin. For instance, I picture Graham as Michael Moore eating cheetos. I picture Chazz as a less-Italian Chaz Palmintieri wearing overalls with a piece of straw in his mouth (sorry, Iowans, I can’t help the stereotypes of my imagination).
I’m sure you’re nothing like Dobby, nor do I think you’re actually a woman.
You absolutely are!
Picturing me as a female version of Dobby and reaffirming by saying you’re not kidding is exactly a personal attack. You were not commenting on my statements, you were personally attacking me. I believe that is over the line. You don’t know me, therefore i don’t think it right to attack me.
I don't really agree with your definition of personal attack
Really, it’s just a kind of non sequitur, completely unrelated to anything that was being discussed and not directed at you. I was not kidding about what I picture, which is honestly probably more of an indictment of the way my mind works than of anything you do.
But I don’t mean to offend. Flag the comment and see if a moderator will take it down if you’re offended.
This blog shit is not worth it. I need to stick to my own forum.

Back to the arrest record
At what point does the University/coaching staff/compliance department become involved in any of this? Oh, that’s right, when they find out about it.
Adam Robinson - Linky
DJK – Linky
"He’ll not play again here," Ferentz said
Coach Kirk Ferentz acted quickly when news of Johnson-Koulianos’ arrest reached him.
"I am highly disappointed to learn of the charges," Ferentz said in a statement. "Derrell has been suspended from all team activities."
And what the University of Iowa still thinks of the two – Linky

Every University has student athletes who get in trouble
Some cover it up to the extent possible. Some give a slap on the wrist and get the player back in ASAP, or allow the player to play “pending a judicial decision” on their case (innocent until proven guilty and all that). Some suspend the player for what they feel is a fair amount of time based upon the severity of the incident. Some cut ties with the player entirely.
Personally, I think it should be handled case-by-case. If it’s truly off-field indiscretion and has nothing to do with the team or NCAA rules, it’s a matter of discipline for the coach to decide.
If you’re at BYU and break the honor code, you are suspended for the year.
If you’re at most Big Ten schools and get a DUI, assault, or some other non-major felony charge, you generally get suspended for a few games or the rest of the current season.
If you’re at an SEC school, the police either let you go with a warning or the coach refuses to suspend the player while the case is pending, so you can be on the field for the yeehaw Iron Bowl.
Basically, minor to medium-level legal trouble is in the province of the school and the coach. How the coach deals with this type of problem is important, like it would be for failure to show up to practice on time or any time of “conduct detrimental to the team,” but it doesn’t implicate any type of cheating or failure to comply with NCAA rules. It’s much different than something within the purview of the NCAA rules, like getting impermissible benefits or being academically ineligible, which might not even be illegal.
How about nafter the first 10 arrests
they do something about it? Do you even have a compliance dept? After 30 arrests you hire someone to do help and you still have multiple arrests. No one on that team knew that your star wr lived in a drug house? Your monitoring was so great huh? Well at least you kicked them off after the fact. Kudo’s.
Check out what Tress did
when Navy came to the ’Shoe a few years ago. It was very classy. Tress also went overseas and held coaching clinics and visited troops with a few other coaches. He truly admired the armed forces. I am a veteran and had no problem with it. If you read the report today, Tress had no say into when he was forced into retirement.
Tressy did have a choice when to retire. He lied and cheated, that was his choice.
Also thank you, Ted and everyone who has served and fought to keep the USA awesome. Thanks much.

Let me fix that for you.
Tress also went overseas and held coaching clinics and visited troops with a few other coaches.
Well, people on the lam do often go overseas.
He truly admired the armed forces.
I would too. The armed forces are full of people with actual strength and courage to take a stand against, say, drug dealers and the 21-year-olds who are hanging out with them.
Tress had no say into when he was forced into retirement.
Correct. Terrell Pryor and friends made that decision for him.

I have repeatedly and honestly said
that I’d rather continue to be an Iowa fan than an OSU fan. Therefore, I am not “wanting to be an OSU fan.”
If I was “wanting to be an OSU fan”, I’d probably be on EBay right now trying to buy rings, trophies, or autographed photos or jerseys. Because there are a lot of those available for OSU.

Wait...
are you asserting that ProveIt invented the block quote, followed by commentary format of commenting?
Having made the mistake in trying to engage Provelt
I can say that he and biggy share one rhetorical trait: argument by assertion alone. Hard as it is to believe, but I actually think biggy is a better poster, because there is literally nothing redeeming or worthwhile about Provelt’s posts: he argues by assertion, accuses anyone who disagrees as “exaggeration, red herrings or decption”, lies repeatedly and outright, has no idea what the words he uses means and constantly recycles the same terrible bon mots, all the while congratulating himself for being so clever.
I ate the blue ones ... they taste like burning.
I'm just saying
this style of skewering others comments was around even before firejoemorgan.
That’d be like me accusing Derek Jeter of trying to imitate Mike McKenry (who just hit his first MLB homer last night for the Pirates) by hitting a home run today.
Oh absolutely
that particular style of internet debate has been around since nearly the fist blog. The phrase I first heard to describe it was “”http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fisking" target="new">fisking" It is certainly not new or unique to Provelt; and, in his case, is employed poorly as he never actually responds or refutes the points he’s highlighting, seeming to believe that merely asserting that someone else is wrong has proven the point.
I ate the blue ones ... they taste like burning.
Dude, that's just uncalled for
Disagreement is fine, sometimes it will get a bit heated between people. But to compare someone to provelt is nothing but willful, malicious defamation. And it has no place in polite society.
I ate the blue ones ... they taste like burning.
Ohio State fans are so self-loathing
that they don’t need any outside source of hate.
Still, the ball was teed up, the fairway was wide, wide open and there wasn’t a hint of wind. Sometimes you just gotta rip it.

Everyone’s dumb for thinking they know what will happen. Rampant speculation is fun, but speculating and acting like you know what’s going to happen, and calling someone dumb for doing the same thing with the opposite idea of what’s going to happen—when no one knows what’s going to happen—is just awful. 52 days can’t come soon enough.
