In one of the most memorable games of a storied rivalry, Michigan quarterback Jim Harbaugh out-dueled counterpart Steve Beuerlein before a national television audience at Notre Dame Stadium on Sept. 13, 1986, winning a hard-fought 24-23 victory.
“One of the best feelings I ever had,” Harbaugh said recently.
The victory launched one of Bo Schembechler’s strongest teams toward another Rose Bowl appearance.
