Chi Trib learns B1G interested in putting #Northwestern in East. Cats want to stay West w/rivals #Illini, Iowa, Wis, Neb. Better 4 fans.

Divisional alignment has been discussed on here multiple times so I'll try to steer this in another direction. How is this even being discussed? My deficient knowledge of B1G history is making it hard for me to comprehend. You have Illinois/NorthWestern and Indiana/Purdue. If you had to remove one of those teams from the other 3, which one makes the most sense? (historically, culturally, recruiting?... not divisional strength)
And this is just speculation, but TV has been obviously a motivating factor for Delany's decisions. If the B1G does split into East/West, is the sole purpose of getting Northwestern on board for East is so you now have Mich/OSU/PSU playing in NYC, DC and Chicago markets yearly? And if that's the case, is that best for the conference at the Cat's expense?
Either way, I immediately thought of MNwildcat's health when I first saw this.
