The latest BCS standings are in, so it's time to update our hypothetical 16 team playoff tournament. For reference, the original bracket/rules can be found here. Not a whole lot of new blood despite a few losses from the original field, as Oklahoma jumps in after the Texas Tech loss and that's it. Here's the playoff field for this week:
Alabama (SEC Champion) [Last week: 1]
Oregon (Pac-12 Champion) [3]
Florida State (ACC Champion) [2]
Ohio State (Big Ten Champion) [4]
Stanford (At-large) [6]
Baylor (Big 12 Champion) [8]
Miami (FL) (At-large) [7]
Clemson (At-large) [9]
Missouri (At-large) [5]
Oklahoma (At-large) [DNQ]
Auburn (At-large) [11]
Fresno State (Mountain West Champion) [12]
Northern Illinois (MAC Champion) [13]
Central Florida (AAC Champion) [14]
Rice (C-USA Champion) [15]
Louisiana-Lafayette (Sun Belt Champion) [16]
Dropped from field: Texas Tech [10]
Thoughts? I'm surprised with how many regional games this week's field developed, especially for most of the top seeds. We also avoided same-conference matchups and dealing with 4+ teams from a conference again.
