What an amazing collection of BCS games. Not that I watched a single one, but the recaps sure sounded exciting. After the non-BCS games failed to excite, this was quite a finish to the season. FSU Auburn was quite a show, maybe the best finishing flourish in a BCS Title Game ever.
@FauxPelini ok enough is enough... I want my cat back. You've had her long enough!— Bo Pelini (@BoPelini) January 7, 2014
One of the OTE writers walked around Cedar Point with Pelini and said he was the nicest guy ever and a great family man. So we've got that going for us, along with this tweet. Please Nebraska, keep Bo around, guy wins bowl games and understands proper twitter humor protocol.
The Big Ten went 2-5 this bowl season. What did we learn? Nothing we didn't know. The mushy middle is weak offensively, seeming to lack athletes, and the Ohio State secondary is asleep/injured at the wheel. So we've got that going for us, which needs to change, or else we will continue our horribleness in bowl season, which will affect possible B1G Playoff contenders for years to come. B1G in bowls since OTE's inception:
2009: 4-3 (!!!)
Michigan State finished the season ranked #3. Didn't see that coming. Can you remember a Big Ten team going from a predicted 8-4 record to #3 in the nation? Has this happened in the OTE lifetime? Or in any lifetime? It's just amazing the optimism surrounding the program right now. What are the keys to keeping this up?
The Big Ten hoops season is now in full swing. Early thoughts: GARY HARRIS CLAP CLAP CLAP is just a soul-crusher of the highest order. What a troll, going back into Indiana and playing lights out. Michigan picked up a quality win over Minnesota on the road, showing defensive sticktoitiveness and again making me ask the question, when's the last time the Gophers had a good three point shooter? Athletes, sure, but maybe a shooter would be nice here or there. And then there was that time when PSU scored 47 first half points against Tom Izzo, only to lose badly in the 2nd half. Anyone want to guess what Izzo said at halftime?
