So Rutgers supposedly great run defense was built on playing a bunch of crappy rushing teams

Hearing that it was good is nauseating. Wisconsin had the number 6 pass defense in the country. Then we played Christian Hackenberg and Connor Shaw, also known as the only two competent passers we faced. It fell to 17th. It's all about who you played.

Fresno State- 81st
Norfolk State- Not even going to bother looking at what a 3-9 FCS team ranked
Eastern Michigan- 77th
Arkansas- 21st
SMU- 120th
Louisville- 88th
Houston- 94th (and they ran for 70 yards over their season average, Cougar fans thank you for pushing them into the top 100)
Temple- 83rd
Cincinnati- 67th
UCF- 75th (Storm Johnson had himself a game too, 5 yards a carry and 2 TDs)
UConn-122nd (lol MG3 averages more on 11 carries than they averaged as a team for an entire game)
USF-121st (that’s 3 of the 5 worst run offenses in FBS for those at home)
ND- 82nd (you gave up 103 more yards than MSU, an actually elite run D)

5 of those teams went over their season averages. You played one team in the top HALF of FBS in rushing and still found a way to allow 17 rushing TDs. Here’s what’s going to bring you down to earth and why no one who cheers for an actual Big Ten school thinks you’ll beat anyone in the conference.

PSU- 58th in rush offense (and quite probably the best passer in the league)
Michigan- 104th (and yet somehow a better running team than half the teams you played in conference last year)
OSU- 5th (get out the body bags)
Nebraska- 19th (put the casket in the ground)
Wisconsin- 8th (pay your final respects to what you thought was an elite run D LOL)
Indiana- 30th (I know, I was surprised too, between that and throwing the ball they might go over 1,000 yards against you)
MSU- 59th (Weird, I thought they’d be higher. Langford’s better than anyone you played, I have to go vomit because I just complimented MSU twice in the same fan post)
Maryland- 85th (Note-Not actual Big Ten team)

6 of the 8 Big Ten teams you play are better than the 2nd best team you played at running the ball last year. 3 of them are better than the best team you played. 5 of them have a running back that is significantly better than Storm Johnson (Spoiler alert- PSU (Belton), Nebraska (Abdullah, Cross probably too), Wisconsin (everyone we call a running back on scholarship, just kidding Ramseh isn't better, Gordon, Clement, and Deal(possibly a stretch) all are though), and IU (Coleman). One of them had a 5th stringer transfer to Illinois State that was probably better than Storm Johnson (google Jeff Lewis Illinois State). Storm Johnson was the best running back you faced. Enjoy 0-8.
