Per Bob Lichtenfels of 247 Sports, true freshman running back and former 4-star recruit Greg Garmon is transferring from the Iowa Hawkeyes:
Former Erie (Pa.) McDowell four-star RB Greg Garmon has just told me he asked for and received release from #Iowa and will transfer.

Garmon, who rushed for 122 yards on 38 attempts in his freshman season, missed a couple of games due to an arm injury and found himself behind Mark Weisman on the depth chart despite the latter being a walk-on fullback. Even with the emergence of Weisman, Garmon was still counted on to add depth to the Hawkeyes Spinal Tap drummer / running back corps. As the news is coming from a PA writer one could speculate that he's heading closer to home.
There's not much more that can be said that hasn't already been said 1,000 times before.
