Notre Dame Blog Not Surprised

Over on One Foot Down, Eric Murtaugh is thoroughly unsurprised at the demise of the series with Michigan. Noting that the Irish athletic director, Jack Swarbrick, made a commitment to preserve the rivalries with Navy, Stanford, and USC, Murtaugh thinks the cancellation of the series with Michigan was logical, though he expects the games with Michigan State and Purdue to remain on the schedule.

He also thinks its more likely than not (and I agree) that this series will reappear in 2018 or later. Oh, and he's not exactly thrilled with the reaction of Michigan's athletic director. In response to a tweet sent by Dave Brandon putting the blame for the cancellation all on Notre Dame, Murtaugh writes:

You tell the world Dave Brandon, you tell them! You tell them who the bad guys are!
