I really do enjoy gambling and Las Vegas. Do I gamble that much? Well, whenever I actually go to Las Vegas. I'm not sure I believe in the legality of betting websites or gambling online. Didn't you see what happened to these guys? Yeah. Bad deal.

It's week 5 in the Big Ten and the most important matchup is undoubtedly Ohio State at Michigan State. The Spartans opened as a 3 point favorite and are now hovering around 2.5, with majority of betters taking the Buckeyes to cover. By majority I mean a slim majority of 51%. Here's a look at the other matchups:

Illinois (vs. Penn State): +1

Indiana (@ Northwestern): +11

Iowa (vs. Minnesota): -7

Michigan (BYE)

Michigan State (vs. Ohio State): -2.5

Minnesota (@ Iowa): +7

Nebraska (vs. Wisconsin): -11.5

Northwestern (vs. Indiana): -11

Ohio State (@ Michigan State): +2.5

Penn State (@ Illinois): -1

Purdue (vs. Marshall): -16.5

Wisconsin (@ Nebraska): +11.5

Observations:

  • Who would've thought at the start of the year that Wisconsin would head into Lincoln as a double digit underdog? However, did you know Nebraska is 4-13 against the spread in its last 17 home games as a double digit favorite?
  • Minnesota hasn't won in Iowa City since 1999, Iowa hasn't covered the spread this season and the Gophers are 5-1 against the spread in their last 6 meetings. Indiana hasn't had a Big Ten victory since 2010.
  • Robert Marve is practicing...despite having a torn ACL. This will end well.
  • Fortunately, Michigan cannot turn the ball over as they're on bye this week.

Who's your pick to cover? Who's your upset pick?
