The Big Ten went 10-2 in their first week of NCAA Football in 2012. Blowout games were won by Ohio State, Nebraska, Purdue, and Illinois. The Buckeyes were the highest scoring team with a victory of 56-10 vs. their in-state foe Miami (OH). Nebraska and Purdue scored 49 and 48 respectively. Illinois didn't blow up the scoreboard, but were able to put Western Michigan away fairly early and win with a 24-7 final score.

The close games were won by Minnesota, Michigan State, Northwestern, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Minnesota had to use 3 OT sessions to defeat UNLV 30-27. Michigan State were able to put their offense together enough to squeeze by Boise State, 17-13. Northwestern and Syracuse may have been the most exciting game of Saturday with a final score of 42-41. It was good to see the Wildcats getting a win outside of the conference. Iowa barely beats a good Northern Illinois team by a score of 18-17. The Badgers saw their offense not put up the numbers they were expecting, but did escape with a 26-21 victory. And finally, the Hoosiers squeaked by an Indiana State team 24-17.

The two losses in the conference came from Michigan and Penn State. Penn State's worries continue as they fall to Ohio University by a score of 24-14. The Nittany Lions are going to need to find a way to put drives together. Michigan was spanked by Alabama 41-14.
