Who, Where, When: Indiana travels to Iowa City to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes in Kinnick Stadium. Kickoff is noon Eastern (11am Central) on ESPNU; Adam Amin and John Congemi have the call. I did not make up either of those names. Iowa leads the series between the teams 42-28-4, but Indiana holds the last victory, a 24-21 win in 2012.
By The Numbers (featuring Kirk Ferentz):
- 16: The number of years Kirk Ferentz has been the head coach at Iowa.
- 5: The number of head coaches at Indiana since Ferentz took over at Iowa.
- 65: Big Ten wins for Ferentz as Iowa's coach
- 17: Big Ten wins for Indiana total in the same period of time
- 12: Games Ferentz has coached against Indiana at Iowa
- 5: Indiana wins in those games
Tevin Watch: Continued his string of 100+ yard rushing performances (7 straight) and games with a rushing touchdown (14). He is also 72 rushing yards behind 11th place on IU's all time rushing leaders with 2,024.
Fun Fact About Iowa: Normally, this section would be a breakdown of Iowa from our writer, Mike Jones, but outside commitments (read: his real job) kept him busy this week, so you get what I looked up about the university instead.
The 2014 Princeton Review named Iowa the #1 party school in the nation, and the school had appeared in the top ten of previous lists (including those published by Playboy).
That is literally the best thing Wikipedia has to say about student life at Iowa.
Notable Iowa Alumni: Tom Brokaw (former NBC Nightly News anchor); Tom Arnold, Ashton Kutcher, Terry O'Quinn, Brandon Routh, and Gene Wilder (actors); Bret Bielema and Lou Holtz (football coaches); Dallas Clark and Bob Sanders (former Indianapolis Colts players); Ettore Ewen [aka Big E] (WWE wrestler)
Prediction: If Good IU shows up, we run and pass all day, and ruin Iowa's homecoming. If Bad IU shows up, we do none of those things. Either way, there will be punting. Lots of punting. I'm going to hope that Good IU shows up, and the Hoosiers win 35-24.
Next Week: The Battle for the Old Brass Spittoon in Bloomington against Michigan State, which is also homecoming for some reason.
