So that just happened...
In what can only be summed up as a surprise hire, AD Shawn Eichorst announced via the official Nebraska twitter account that the next Head Coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers will be former Oregon State Coach Mike Riley. Riley is widely considered one of the nicest guys in the business, so this seems to be more of a cultural hire than anything. If you are out on the twitters, you can see almost everyone in the coaching and media ranks happy with the hire.
Of course, worth noting... Mike Riley was only 93-80 at Oregon State. Obviously there are differences between the two schools and we have yet to even see a staff, but on the surface, this seems like a very interesting hire.
Anyhow, we'll keep you updated as we learn more. Consider this a good place to chat about it.
