Week 6: Big Ten Football Open Thread

It's nice and crisp out there, which can only mean one thing, football!  We also have the potential last game for a coach today, which will definitely make the Ohio State game interesting.  Here's the schedule with viewing info:

Maryland at Ohio State (-31.5) || 12:00pm ET || BTN

So, what a better way for Randy Edsall to enjoy his potentially last game in the Big Ten than to be playing in the Shoe and most likely getting blasted? I would say I feel bad...but honestly I'm more than ready to move on after having to watch them the past five seasons.

Indiana at Penn State (-7) || 12:00pm ET || ESPN

Since I didn't get my picks in this week, so I'll go at this one here. What is Vegas thinking? Perhaps that Indiana has nothing left in the tank after going all out against OSU? Penn State's 4-1 record is deceiving against the Penn State soft(tm) schedule they've had and they generally have not looked good in their wins. I hope Indiana blasts them in Happy Valley.

Illinois at Iowa (-11) || 12:00pm ET || ESPN2

Can Illinois keep the magic streak up? Iowa has looked fantastic so far this season while Illinois is enjoying the new coaching by Cubit. I'm guessing Iowa rolls easy here.

Northwestern at Michigan (-10) || 3:30pm ET || BTN

This is the game of the week and BTN is very happy they grabbed this one early from ESPN. This is a great test for both teams as Michigan hasn't played anyone of note since losing to Utah in Week 1 while Northwestern has played good defenses but is failing to put anyone away. If Michigan wins, all the crazies are coming out.

Wisconsin at Nebraska (+2.5) || 3:30pm ET || ABC/ESPN2

This is the letdown game, and no that doesn't mean that one team is going to derp after a big week prior. Both teams have let down their fan bases in one way or another this year and both teams need this game to right the early part of their season.

Minnesota at Purdue (+3.5) || 3:30pm ET || ESPNU

Minnesota should be on upset alert here. They have no offense and Purdue showed some life on offense at least. This could be a fun one to watch, not for either fanbase though.

Michigan State at Rutgers (-13) || 8:00pm ET || BTN

Do you think BTN wants to re pick this game yet? Rutgers might win this one....versus the spread. Sparty wins easy, but please don't let off the gas this week.
