Well, that certainly was a fun Week 7. With the drama in Michigan and New Jersey followed by the eventual blowout of Penn State, there was certainly more than enough to watch. So who were the risers and fallers? Let's look!
Stock Up
Michigan State Spartans - I wouldn't say this stock is that far up, but that is one hell of a way to end the game. For now it doesn't look like anyone is going to pose a challenge until the Ohio State game, so Michigan State would be a solid buy for the next few weeks. Next up: Indiana.
Ohio State Buckeyes - 21 to 3 at the half is a much more convincing way to go about the game Buckeyes. Not scoring anything in the 3rd quarter and letting the game creep to within two scores isn't the best way to start the half but you finished off rather well. Next up: Rutgers.
Nebraska Cornhuskers - Hey Nebraska! There you are! That is one way to avoid the crappy finishes you've been experiencing. I had to rethink this though. Giving up 300 yards passing to Minnesota is quite the feat to accomplish, and not in a good way. Next up: Northwestern.
Rutgers Scarlet Knights - Is this your new thing? Between the Maryland game last year and the Indiana game last week, this must be your once a season come back that makes no sense. Either way, that game was some fun offense. Next up: Ohio State.
Iowa Hawkeyes - Mighy impressive against that Northwestern defense. There legitimately doesn't look like anyone on your schedule now that can stop you until the conference championship game. Next up: bye.
Wisconsin Badgers - Playing Purdue solves many things. That being said, there is still some room to grow here. Next up: Illinois.
Stock Holding
Maryland Terrapins - You beat the bye and got rid of your head coach! Win! Next up: Penn State
Illinois Fighting Illini - I don't think you lost to the bye, either. Next up: Wisconsin
Michigan Wolverines - Oof. I can't put you in stock down because you were the better team outside of a botched punt. Your fans need some talking to though. Death threats to a punter are a no no. Next up: a bye week to stew on that muffed punt.
Stock Down
Purdue Boilermakers - I'm convinced at this point in the season you all are just numb and used to it. Holding Wisconsin usually would count for something, but their offense is down this year too. Next up: bye.
Northwestern Wildcats - What happened guys? You all were sitting pretty and all a sudden you've fallen apart. I'd give you a pass on playing two of the toughest teams in the league this year, but you didn't just lose, you were dismantled by them. You all better get it together quickly. Next up: Nebraska.
Penn State Nittany Lions - Not much place to go but down when you're playing the number one team in the land. Luckily for you all, Maryland is one of the worst teams in the league. Next up: Maryland.
Indiana Hoosiers - That's rough. There was nothing pretty about that loss. Time to regroup quickly before taking on the Spartans. Next up: Michigan State.
Minnesota Golden Gophers - Hooray passing game! Too bad it came in a game where your defense forgot to show up against an angry Nebraska team. Better take this time off to figure out if Leidner is really the answer. Next up: bye.
Things are starting to shake themselves out now that conference play is in full gear. The top is starting to distinguish itself and looks to be a three team race with Iowa running away in the West. We can fully expect Iowa, MSU, and OSU to be sitting in stock up mode until OSU/MSU play each other while some other teams are on some much needed byes. Let's see who can shake things up next week since nothing is ever as it seems in the B1G!
