Good morning all! Today is the opening day of conference play for all teams not named Rutgers and Penn State. Unfortunately for a lot of those teams, the big spreads have remained. Let's take a look at the game times, how to watch, and what the spreads are:
#22 Michigan at Maryland (+14.5) || 12:00pm ET || BTN
This game was originally scheduled for the primetime night game, but early to mid week threats of the hurricane possibly making landfall late Saturday into Sunday pushed the game back to noon. Looking outside, it's going to be very windy for this game with on and off rain showers. I wouldn't expect too many field goals to make it in this one and to see a ton of short passes and runs.
Purdue at #2 Michigan State (-21.5) || 12:00pm ET || ESPN2
Both teams haven't beat the spread this year so something has to give. Michigan State's defense isn't all galaxy class this year, so I'll go with Purdue somehow scores enough to keep it within three scores. Oh....this isn't the picks article. Right. Michigan State is having a nice fall day, brisk, currently in the high 40s according to our MSU contributor who is currently already drunk while tailgating it. Have fun!
Minnesota at #16 Northwestern (-4.5) || 12:00pm ET || BTN
I'm guessing since this is on BTN as well it'll be on the HD channel, although with the media so obsessed with #Harrrrbbaaauuuggghhhhhh they may get the HD treatment. This game won't feature much offense and could very well be another M00N game at the half.
Iowa at #19 Wisconsin (-6.5) || 12:00pm ET || ESPN
This is most likely the game of the week in the Big Ten. Iowa is surprising everyone so far this year (and their fans are talking about playoffs lol) while Wisconsin hasn't looked its normal dominant self on the ground. Iowa stands to gain the most in this game while Wisconsin is desperately looking to prove people wrong and that they deserve their ranking.
Army at Penn State (-24.5) || 12:00pm ET || ESPNU
Penn State ain't great, but Army is probably the worst of the service academies this year. I'm assuming that the weather here in Maryland is also translating to wind in Happy Valley, but Franklin also has no qualms with short screens all day. Let's see if PSU can score enough to cover.
#1 Ohio State at Indiana (+22.5) || 3:30pm ET || ABC/ESPN2
I think that ESPN Gameday is wishing they picked Indiana for their site after being rained on all week long. Owell, there is always basketball season, right Indiana?!
Nebraska at Illinois (+6) || 4:02pm ET || BTN
This game was pushed from a noon kickoff to 4:02pm ET to accomodate the MIchigan/Maryland game being pulled earlier into the day. How they came up with 4:02, I really have no clue. Very precise though B1G, very precise.
That's it for the games! Normal rules apply: no illegal streams in the comments, no illicit photos/videos/gifs/vines/etc., and keep it sorta civil (except Michigan, Fuck Michigan). Enjoy!
