Week 9: Big Ten Open Thread

Because we ain't SEC so we can call it the conference open thread...

Reese Strickland-USA TODAY Sports

Beautiful fall morning out! We have another five games on tap today with four teams on bye: Michigan State, Indiana, Ohio State, and Northwestern.  Here are the games and viewing information:

Illinois at Penn State (-6.5) || 12:00pm ET || ESPN2

Penn State and it's awful offense are somehow bowl eligible.  Remember that Penn State soft (tm) schedule we were talking about? It's working out great for them.  Anyways, can Illinois repeat last year's upset now that they're in Happy Valley? I like this year's Illinois more than last so we'll see.

Nebraska at Purdue (-7.5) || 12:00pm ET || ESPNU

If Vegas is favoring Nebraska this year, you must be bad.  Sorry Purdue...moving on.

Rutgers at Wisconsin (-19.5) || 12:00pm ET || BTN

Anyone else think this spread is rather large for an underperforming Wisconsin team and a frisky Rutgers team? This game could be an interesting one.

Maryland at #10 Iowa (-18) || 3:30pm ET || ABC (midwest and northeast) or ESPN2 (rest of country)

Which Maryland do we get? First half of the season or last week where they were gashing a good Penn State defense? That'll dictate whether this is blowout territory or uncomfortably close for Iowa.

#15 Michigan at Minnesota (+13) || 7:00pm ET || ESPN

I feel sorry for you Minnesota.  A rested and pissed off Michigan team after that loss to Sparty is not going to be fun to play.

That's it? Who are you all thinking pulls the upset this week? Makes it uncomfortably close? Everyone rooting for Maryland after all the SMCD's?

Normal rules apply: No illegal streams (as if it's needed..), no illicit photos/vines/gifs, keep it civil (Fuck Michigan), etc.
