Purdue's recruiting class for 2015 was ranked at the bottom of the conference, but Darrell Hazell and Co. managed to snag the Mr. Football winner from both Indiana and Kentucky. Here is some information about them.
Indiana Mr. Football: Markell Jones, RB
Jones is the all-time single season state record holder for rushing yards. He rushed for 3,536 yards last season at Columbus East High School. That's only about 500 yards less than the entire Purdue offense managed to generate last season. Jones was rated as a three star recruit; Purdue was the only power conference school to offer. There are questions about his being able to withstand the physicality of major level college football; he is small at 5'9" and 204 lbs.
Markell is majoring in Aviation at Purdue, with the goal of becoming a pilot like his father. Hopefully he can fly the Boilermaker offense to great new heights!

Kentucky Mr. Football: Elijah Sindelar
Sindelar was a four-year starting QB at Caldwell County High School in Kentucky, who racked up 12,637 yards passing during his career. His 144 career passing touchdowns is a state record. Last season during his Mr. Football run, he had 294 pass attempts and only four interceptions. Sindelar was the most recruited of the new Boilers, receiving offers from Illinois and Kentucky. He was rated as either three or four stars, depending on the site.
Sindelar was also a standout baseball player in high school; there was concern at some point that he might choose baseball over football. According to him, Purdue's engineering program was a main reason why he chose the school.
As is tradition, Sindelar is rehabbing an ACL injury he suffered in the playoffs last season.

Clearly a group of competitors, as you can see by the reaction of @SIND3LAR just missing his spare. pic.twitter.com/HS4BbZiKEA
