MICHIGAN STATE
Projected Starter: Tyler O'Connor (RS Senior)
Projected Backup: Damion Terry (RS Junior)
Andrew: It's anyone's guess between RS Sr to be Tyler O'Connor and RS Jr Damion Terry. Neither has much game action, both had some bright spots against OSU in a huge game in the Horseshoe. Gun to my head, I'd say O'Connor is the guy, but that's a long way from settled. There'll also be a touted RS Fr, Brian Lewerke, coming online, but we've yet to see a QB who's been ready for this playbook with less than 2 years to learn it- not Cook, not Cousins, nobody so far. So Lewerke is probably waiting for the guys ahead of him to clear out while he gets beat up on the scout team.
By halftime of the OSU game, he was the guy I wanted State to roll with the rest of the game. Terry has some tantalizing upside, but O'Connor looks more accurate for now and he's not a bad runner himself. If O'Connor wins, Terry could plausibly move to WR and be a big help there.
OHIO STATE
Projected Starter: J.T. Barrett (Junior)
Projected Backup: Torrance Gibson (RS Freshmen)
GF3: Barrett starter. Torrance Gibson is backup. The East is vanquished. What are your questions?
MICHIGAN
Projected Starter: John O'Korn (Junior)
Projected Backup: Wilton Speight (RS Sophomore)
Graham: There are 6 or 7 quarterbacks on the roster, as of today (O'Korn, Speight, Malzone, Gentry, Morris, Peters). Most people say O'Korn's experience and comfort with the practice team should give him the heads up. Speight looked decent versus Minnesota, while Morris has looked less than comfortable pretty much each time he's seen the field. Hotshot frosh Brandon Peters is a probable redshirt. One thing we know: Quarterbacks learn well under Harbaugh. Another thing we know: Some of these quarterbacks will probably leave UM before the 2016 season begins.
PENN STATE
Projected Starter: Trace McSorley (RS Sophomore)
Projected Backup: Tommy Stevens (Sophomore)
Aaron: Trace McSorley will be a RS soph, Tommy Stevens will be a true sophomore. McSorley took a few reps this year, so he's probably got the inside track to start. He's a dual threat quarterback out of Ashburn Virginia. He was a 3 star recruit that decommitted from Vanderbilt to follow James Franklin to Penn State.
INDIANA
Projected Starter: Richard Lagow (Junior)
Projected Backup: Danny Cameron (RS Sophomore), Zander Diamont (Junior)
Graham: Discussion of Lagow as the starter has apparently heated up, as he looks tailor-made for the Indiana offense. You can read about him here; he's a big boy with a big arm who is early enrolling and will be at Spring Practice.
Candy: I think Zander may have a slight edge over Cameron. I don't think a ton of Indiana fans believe in Zander's arm strength just yet. And the less I have to think about trusting anyone related to Cam Cameron, the better.
He's a great guy to have if you need to change things up, but I'm just not sure that a guy under 6 feet tall whose primary weapon is his legs and not his arm is gonna start too much more at Indiana.
RUTGERS
Projected Starter: Chris Laviano (Junior)
Projected Backup: Hayden Rettig (Junior)
Most likely Chris Laviano, who started all of 2015 and had some decent moments (and also a few rough games). If this year's depth chart persists, his backup will be former blue chip QB recruit and LSU transfer Hayden Rettig.
MARYLAND
Projected Starter: Perry Hills (Junior)
Projected Backup: ...
DJ: HOW DARE YOU MAKE ME THINK ABOUT THE GOD AWFUL QB POSITION AT MD....
