MQR: The Race Tightens with Two Weeks Left

Week 12: Mailbag Question Request

NCAA Football: Maryland at Michigan Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Week Eleven will go down in history as Chaos Week 2016. Five of the top ten teams in the nation lost…but more importantly, three of the top four teams in the nation…Clemson, Michigan, and Washington…lost their games.

What does that do to the National playoff picture? Well we won’t know until 9pm tonight.

What’s more important is what happens in the Big Ten races. Wisconsin is the overwhelming favorite in the west, because they hold the tiebreaker over Nebraska. But both teams have two games to go. And neither one is a gimme.

The east is a 3-way tie right now. And with Michigan’s quarterback Wilton Speight out with a broken collar bone, the next two games against a tough Indiana team and Ohio State are now in doubt.

A two-loss Michigan team falls to 3rd in the conference and out of national contention. Cue sad trombone. However, a one-loss OSU team means a one-loss Penn State team plays for the B1G championship. Cue sad pizza.

My B1G questions are…can Michigan overcome its injury at QB to beat Indiana and OSU? Can Minnesota play spoiler at Wisconsin? Can Iowa play spoiler when it hosts Nebraska? Finally, can Sparty play spoiler at Penn State?

I’m sure you guys have questions too. Leave em in the comments below and we’ll answer them in the Mailbag.
