Army Player Dies in Car Accident

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

In news that will hit home for thousands of B1G fans, West Point Cadet and Army football player Brandon Jackson was killed in a car accident. His death comes hours after his Army team started the season 2-0 for the first time since 1996, defeating Rice 31-14 in the home opener at Michie Stadium.

Jackson, a Yearling cadet (sophomore) started as a true freshman. He had three interceptions to his name, and was instrumental in Army's ability to shut down the leading passer in Temple history in the season opener.

In the words of the Alma Mater...Well done, Cadet Jackson. Be thou at peace.
