Happy Friday everyone, and welcome to the last week of the regular season. Today we’ve got Thanksgiving leftovers, road trips west and a Wisconsin murder cabin. Let’s get to it!
Creighton: I have to work on black friday, so I’ll miss at least the first half of the Iowa-Nebraska game. At kickoff I’m going to turn my phone off to avoid spoilers, then race home after work and start the game from the beginning on the DVR. I did the same thing last year and it was pretty much the same as watching the game live, except I was able to fast-forward through the commercials. On Saturday I’m going to stay in eating leftovers and drinking a Plead the 5th from Dark Horse, and perhaps a Shiner Holiday Cheer or two.
BigRedTwice: I'll take "Road Trip" for $400, Alex (er, Creighton)! I'm road-tripping to California with my mother over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. When Nebraska is playing Iowa on Friday, we will be taking in the majesty of the Grand Canyon, which I'm pretty sure will be far more awe-inspiring than anything either Nebraska or Iowa decides to show on the field.
LincolnParkWildcat: Hell, I’ll be in my apartment or some random Lincoln Park bar watching the Cats keep the hat away from the Illini drinking whatever’s on tap.
Alfred Kringleberry: I'll be in the B1G's shiniest new media market, New York City, imposing on relatives and leering dismissively at the campus of our conference's newest purchase/totally welcome and valued member while my team hopefully grinds theirs into gelatinous cranberry-replicant substance.
Dead Read: I will be in Lincoln. I will be lolling about in a turkey haze. Maybe good football will happen. But, probably not.
Jesse: I will be back in the Good Life, hanging out at my dad’s house in Omaha, probably throwing things in disgust as a bad offense makes our awful defense look somehow more awful. I will also be eating more turkey and probably a lot of pumpkin pie, so let’s call this a win of a day for the most part.
Brian: I’m leaving behind the sunny climes of Southern California and making my way to Ann Arbor one last time this season, where, God help me, I’ll be attending the Michigan/Ohio State game. It’s often said that anything can happen in rivalry games and that axiom will surely be put to the test this weekend, as Michigan limps (figuratively and literally) into this year’s clash. I’m not sure what I’ll be drinking, but if this year’s affair play out anything like the last one played in Ann Arbor, you can bet I’ll be drinking something.
DJ: Spending the day smoking a Turkey for Friendsgiving and watching football, drinking whatever delicious booze people bring over and watching the wife get into a frenzy last second while she cooks the sides.
Candystripes for Breakfast: I'll be at work, hoping that I'll have a good reason to pay attention to football past Saturday.
MNWildcat: Spooner. In a cabin with 8 badger fans (this is what I am marrying into. Ye gods). Second Thanksgiving will be awfully fun, as will the New Glarus Black Top IPA and 2017 Berliner Weisse, but being forced to watch NU-Illinois on spotty WiFi while they celebrate a murderdeathkilling in the Axe game will not.
That’s it for us. What about you guys? Let us know in the comments!
