Nebraska Parts Ways with Mike Riley

In one of the least surprising moves in recent history, the Riley Era is over at Nebraska.

Following a 4-8 season, including a beatdown by Iowa for its finale, Nebraska has chosen to no longer retain Mike Riley’s coaching services, effective immediately. Nebraska AD Bill Moos announced this morning that the university has terminated Mike Riley’s employment, effective immediately.

"Riley has brought professionalism and energy to the Nebraska football program, but unfortunately, those attributes have not translated to on-field success,” said Moos.

Moos will hold a press conference at 1 pm to discuss the firing further.
