I’m headed to the Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon again!

What should your humble amateur volunteer sportsblogyeller do this year?

I’m headed back to the Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon at McCormick place for the third straight year! (see 2015 and 2016). I don’t have a press pass from SBN since I write under a pseudonym, even though I share managerial duties around here. That’s fine by me because it frees me to ask whatever question I want from the coaches.

Here’s how it works: I buy two tickets for the kickoff luncheon and take a day off work. I have one hour to wait in line to talk to the various coaches, and get a football signed. Then I ask them whatever I feel like. I’m not a reporter constrained by objectivity or access constraints or job security, so I can do things like ask Mike Riley two years ago, “if you beat Minnesota, will you accept the $5 Bits of Broken Chair trophy?” on video recorded on my iPhone.

BTW Minnesota and Nebraska fans: if I find Nebraska’s AD, I’m definitely asking him why he won’t use the trophy again.

Long story short, are their any burning questions you would like me to ask the coaches when I try to get an autograph?

I love the fact that we have this little corner of the internet to talk about Big Ten sports and goof around. Let’s have some fun with it too.
