Every week in the Big Ten, there are outstanding young men playing football for our entertainment, and so we at OTE feel that it is only right to recognize the best and the brightest of these. Here now, the week 3 winners:
Offensive Player of the Week: Alex Hornibrook, Wisconsin QB
O' My Performance: Alex Hornibrook of @BadgerFootball completed 18 of 19 passes (94.7 completion pct) and threw 4 TD passes. #DaveyQBs pic.twitter.com/02I4MGtkvf

When the top QB award in the nation thinks you’ve had a good weekend, you probably had a good weekend.
Honorable mention goes to David Blough of Purdue, who went 22 of 28 for 187 yards and a passing touchdown, as well as running one in himself in a 35-3 mauling of Missouri.
Defensive Player of the Week: Jacob Huff, Minnesota DB
In addition to 4 tackles (1 TFL) and one pass breakup, Huff hauled in a 67 yard pick six to snuff out a Middle Tennessee drive and put the game away just before halftime.
Honorable mention goes to Purdue’s Kamal Hardy for denying Mizzou the end zone by literally stealing the ball away from a wide receiver.

Special Teams Player of the Week: Quinn Nordin, Michigan Kicker
For the 2nd time this season, @UMichFootball K Quinn Nordin is the #B1G Special Teams Player of the Week pic.twitter.com/tQxTAHf0PX

Nordin went 5 for 5 on field goals against Air Force, with the longest coming from 49 yards out. He also made both extra point tries, earning him both the Big Ten STPOTW as well as our version (which is obviously the more prestigious one).
Normally, there would also be a Big Ten honorable mention, but this week’s Outside the Empire Honorable Mention is too good to share space with anyone else.
@espn Have you ever seen this? Texas Lutheran's Tyler Hopkins has FG blocked only to kick again off bounce for 18-yard FG! #sctop10 #D3fb pic.twitter.com/VYVT264j5a

While it isn’t clear from the video whether the field goal is actually legal, other sources reported that the kick did count, so take that for what it’s worth.
Fail of the Week: Nebraska vs. Northern Illinois
3 picks from Tanner Lee, two of which were pick sixes? Failing to defeat a MAC school at home (ok, this one happens to a lot of us, actually)? Losing to a non-P5 team at home for the first time in 13 years? Yeah, this was not ideal for the Cornhuskers.
Dishonorable mention goes to....whatever the heck this was from Iowa-North Texas.
This was a weird game, but nothing was weirder than when it went FULL YAKETY SAX in the second quarter. pic.twitter.com/hBPVYjeOL9
