DJ: I would 100% take MSU and the points in this game. Nothing wisconsin is doing this year makes me think this game is within 17. Ethan Happ is wisconsin’s only serviceable player and he’ll have a hell of a time against Jaren Jackson Jr and Ward inside.

Saturday, January 27

rutger Scarlet Knights (12-10, 2-7) at Penn State Nittany Lions (14-8, 4-5)

DJ: This game will either be highly entertaining if Penn State is hitting 3s again that result in rutger getting blown out of the gym or it will be nearly if not completely unwatchable. There is no in between when watching this game becacuse if Penn State isn’t hitting from 3, neither team is hitting 60 points. rutger still doesn’t know what offense is and Penn State is 50/50 depending if the 25+ 3s they take will land. Yeah...don’t watch this and expect to like it.

Aaron Yorke: Losing to rutger at home for the second year in a row would be the perfect way for Penn State to treat its fans after getting their hopes up with a riveting victory in Columbus. Please, Penn State. Have mercy.

Iowa Hawkeyes (11-11, 2-7 B1G) at Nebraska Cornhuskers (15-8, 6-4 B1G)

DJ: Nebraska is playing surprisingly competent basketball this year and Iowa is struggling mightily. If Bohannon can continue his performance from the wisconsin game and Cook can clean up inside like likewise, this could be a very close one that comes down to the wire. Nebraska struggled against rutger and if Iowa gets rolling from 3 this could be interesting.

Stew: My guess is this is going to go ugly for Iowa. UNL has guards that can make life rough on both sides of the court. Probably going to be a LOT of Iowa turnovers and fast break points for UNL. Really, the only shot Iowa has is if they can out-rebound UNL by such a massive margin that makes up for the turnovers.

Sunday, January 28

Michigan State Spartans (18-3, 6-2 B1G) at Maryland Terrapins (15-7, 4-5)

12pm GTZ || CBS || Line: Not enough

DJ: I know better than to watch this game. The last time we played MSU the game was entertaining for 16 minutes until Maryland went cold to end the half and seemingly no one on MSU could miss. I don’t expect it to be any better this time around and wouldn’t be surprised at all at another 30 point loss. This season sucks.

Purdue Boilermakers (20-2, 9-0) at Indiana Hoosiers (12-9, 5-4)

2:30pm G || FOX || Line: TBD

DJ: Well, Purdue will rotate a 7’2 and 7’3 guy all game inside while Indiana has one competent post player. Meanwhile, Purdue was on fire from 3 against Michigan and if that continues here I’m not sure what Indiana does other than chuck 3s all game and hope they’re going to go in. They won’t, and it’ll be a blowout loss.

Boilerman: I want IU’s soul. Make it so Boilers, make it so.
