How underwhelmed are YOU by the ACC-Big Ten Challenge schedule?

It’s the usual suspects in some various combination...and crumbs/massacres for the rest of us.

Per the Indy Star, the games are out! I’ve grouped them into absolutely-correct, helpful tiers so you know which ones you care about:

Tier 1: Prime-Time TV

Indiana Hoosiers at Duke Blue Devils

North Carolina Tar Heels at Michigan Wolverines

Michigan State Spartans at Louisville Cardinals

Virginia Cavaliers at Maryland Terrapins

Tier 2: Basketball You Would Watch

Syracuse Orange at Ohio State Buckeyes

Purdue Boilermakers at Florida State Seminoles

Tier 3: This, Too, Is Basketball

North Carolina State Wolfpack at wisconsin badgers

Nebraska Cornhuskers at Clemson Tigers

Virginia Tech Hokies at Penn State Nittany Lions

Minnesota Golden Gophers at Boston College Eagles

Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Illinois Fighting Illini

Tier 4: Getting Hit by a Bus

Tier 5: Why, God?

Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Miami Hurricanes

  • More of the standards, as the biggest names get the biggest games. Indiana-Duke, The Criminal Bowl, and Michigan-UNC are made-for-ESPN games, while the ACC-ACC matchup is a good one, too.
  • Syracuse-Ohio State will be a riveting 67-65 game of basketball, I assume.
  • Purdue, post-Isaac Haas, should be tested by the usual length and athleticism of the Seminoles, who are a consistently-underwhelming but present threat.
  • You have to watch one of the Tier 3 games: Which do you choose? My vote is Penn State-VaTech, though Nebrasketball-Clemson would be a close second.

  • Pitt is rebuilding under Jeff Capel (congrats on the win, Iowa), and Miami will blow the doors off rutger. We done here?
  • No, a fucking rematch with Georgia Tech for Northwestern. Fuck. Maybe the Cubs can host this shitshow, too.

Early Matchup Picks:

Give me the Big Ten, 8-6. Wins for the Big Ten come from Michigan State, Maryland, Ohio State, wisconsin, Penn State, Minnesota, Iowa, Northwestern.
