"Now that's more like it," a phrase spoken by many a Boilermaker fan last weekend, and also us wannabe degenerates (for the most part). The majority of us made money, and we went positive as a group overall for the first time this season! All it took was the start of conference play, where we only have to make decisions based on teams we actually follow and know things about. Yay!

Purdue is our B1G rep of the week, as they finally got out of their own way and looked like the team everyone thought would go bowling this year vs a decent BC team. Similarly, our group stopped making dumb picks and we crushed Vegas this week.

Overall, we went 170-110, good for a pick rate of 0.607 and a net gain of $4,900 DelanyBucks. On the year, we're still pretty abysmal - 713-863, good for a correct pick rate of 0.452 and a net loss of -$23,630 DelanyBucks. But a few more weeks like this one and we'll be in the black by November or so. Because of course we'll do super well every week, right?!

Wishful Thinking Pick of the Week: No plucky underdogs that only a handful of people smartly picked this week, instead there was one massive favorite that a few people took a risk betting against, and it didn't pay off. Only 3 people picked Tulane +36 over the Buckeyes: beezer07, SDWYO, and GoForThree.

It Was Close, Until it Wasn't: I'm sure the 8 people that picked Illinois were feeling good after the opening drive of the 2nd half, seeing the Illini score a touchdown to take the lead 24-21 and making a 28-point cover look completely out of reach. The rest of the 2nd half saw PSU slowly squeeze the life out of Illinois, with the 3rd string offense punching in the covering TD with 4:24 left in the game to make the score 56-24.

Old Faces, New Faces: Welcome to user Juxster, who made his/her first picks of the season last week! We also didn't hear from MH19 or SpartanHT, who failed to make picks for the first time.

Race to the Top: K_Sull is miles ahead of the pack, 4 games ahead of 2nd place, after a fantastic 7-1 week. She's making 63.6% of her picks correctly so far, and has made $1,040 DelanyBucks on the season. Protip: copy Sully's Sull-ections. Congrats to boilerlion31 and Juxster for also being in the black and rounding out the top 3. There are 6 people flirting with the positives at -$10.

Race to the Bottom: HoyaGoon has been supplanted at the bottom following a solid 6-2 showing, he's now tied for 3rd-worst. Our new last place leader is ICEICETHATGUY13, who has the direct opposite pick rate as K_Sull - 36.4% of his picks are correct. SpartanHT isn't too far behind, only $40 ahead of ICEICE. AlltheIowanamesaretaken and 87 Rides A Surfboard plummet following poor 2-6 showings to round out the bottom 5 to tie with HoyaGoon.
