B1G Talking Points
- If it’s any consolation, Penn State, you’re good enough to vault Ohio State into the #1 position. Congratulations!
- Meanwhile, Penn State also sits in an interesting spot. If these results hold, Alabama would play Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl, Utah against Minnesota in the Rose Bowl, and Penn State gets a tomato can (probably Virginia Tech?) in the Orange Bowl.

Play someone, anyone in the Outback Bowl
- There’s nothing exciting to say about Minnesota or wisconsin, both of whom will be right where they deserve after this weekend.
- Seems harsh to drop Oregon below a Michigan team whose best win is a similarly-overrated Notre Dame.
- Probably clocking in at #15 or so and 9-3. A banner year for Kirk Ferentz and Iowa—better extend that contract.
Other Observations
- Shoulda covered the spread against Arkansas, LSU.
- So let’s just get out of the way how this is gonna go: LSU will lose to Georgia in the SEC Championship Game, it’ll be OSU 1, Clemson 2, Georgia 3, LSU 4. Hooray.
- If you’re on the couch but not tuned in to Memphis-Cincinnati on Friday, a visual representation of who you are:

Appalachian State rooting interests:
- Win out
- Cincinnati def. Memphis
- Navy def. Cincinnati
- Boise State loses
I, for one, have found what I’ll be rooting for the rest of the season.
