B1G Observations
- Flex Ohio State out to the Fiesta Bowl, if I hadn't already. I honestly don't pay attention week-to-week, and I even keep these in a spreadsheet my myself.
- Am I going out on a limb assuming Penn State can jump two spots while just kind of sitting there? That's how much I'll take Ohio State to win by.
- Sorry, wisconsin. (I'm not.) Enjoy the easier of the New Year's Day Florida draws. You're welcome.
- Here's the thing: With Minnesota owning the fifth-best ranking in the Big Ten (seriously!) and having lost the head-to-head with Iowa, I would really love to see them tumble to the Gator (since they can't go to the Holiday, technically).
- But there's a lot of dumb calculus with sending Iowa or Michigan back to Florida, so it's easier to just send them to California and be done with it. Sorry to our favorite Michigan commenter, though, who I doubt will be back to tell us to "book" Michigan to the Rose Bowl.
- Should Indiana be the Gator Bowl team? Probably not. But they're in their last years of ineligibility for the Pinstripe and Redbox bowls, technically, so the Gator is the logical resting place. We'll give them Kentucky, because if they're gonna have #9WINdiana, they might as well earn it.
- A Battle on the Ice in New York ice seems appropriate. Thus endeth the Dantonian Crusade. Sory, Estonia.
- Lose to Northwestern, go to Detroit. Them's the rules, Illinois.
Other Observations
- There are 79 teams and 78 slots. Sorry to one of Eastern Michigan or Kent State. (I actually am.)
- I love just making up random games for bowl games where the conferences can't fill their slots. Take the Cheez-It Bowl, for example. Why San Diego State-Central Florida? Because fuck you, that's why.
- Seems unfair that both teams in the Hawaii Bowl can call it a home game. THIS IS ALL THE 'BOWS HAVE, BOWL PEOPLE.
- Sticking 6-win Florida State somewhere random should be an annual tradition. Southern Miss couldn't get the job done, so give me Cincinnati to actually finish the ignominy this year.
- Do I have anyone repeating in here?
