Did you enjoy the days of 10 Big Ten teams in the NCAA Tournament?
The bottom has fallen out in Lincoln without Isaac Copeland, and not even a road win in East Lansing has vaulted Indiana off the bubble. Eight teams for the Big Ten looks as close to a lock as possible, but with Minnesota yet to pull itself out of the 50s in NET Rankings and Ohio State still...existing...it’s going to be a wild ride to the finish. Let’s get to it:
B1G Talking Points
- This week, it’s Michigan and Michigan State as dueling twos! Where will the wheel stop next week? Both teams play wisconsin before we check in next Wednesday, and if Michigan State does the double against Minnesota and at wisconsin, I’ll pull at least them, maybe Michigan back onto a 1-line with a stumble above them.
- I’m taking the under in a Princeton-Michigan first-rounder, by the way. Oof.
- The Conference of 5-Seeds: I personally hope the Big Ten sweeps the 5-line in the final March Madness bracket. Wouldn’t it be perfect—Purdue, wisconsin, Iowa, and Maryland, all on a 5-line? I’m sold.
- It feels like Minnesota should be more secure in brackets, and Ohio State less so, but here we are, with both sitting on a 9-seed and Ohio State in (marginally) more brackets.

- I’m not sure how SBNation has the Nebraska both in the First Four Out and not in their NIT bracketology, but there you are. Indiana, meanwhile, should rise to an NIT 1- or 2-seed in Mid-Major Madness’s estimation following their road win at MSU.
- How Northwestern is still holding onto an NIT bid in recently-updated things is beyond fucking me. The ‘Cats are bad, y’all.

No one in the NIT???
- If you’re Rutgers, would you say “yes” to a CBI appearance? With a schedule of @ILL, @NU, vs. Iowa, @MSU, vs. MN, @IA, vs. PSU, @IND left...Rutgers would need to either split and win their first round in the Big Ten Tournament, or go 5-3 and drop their opening round. I say it’s doable. What about you?
