Doesn’t the dek say it all?
Look: Far be it from me to deny you the pleasure, if you so choose, of driving, as several of Townie’s friends apparently are, great distances to State College to drink in the rain and watch a glorified two-hand touch game with made-up rules and scoring that’s probably not real. But I’m pretty sure they have all the episodes of Whose Line Is It Anyway? on YouTube, and, like...fire up the grill in your backyard and just pretend you drove 200+ miles and spent dozens, if not hundreds of dollars.
Same goes for you, Nebraska.
Anyways, here’s your schedule of Big Ten games and practices for today. A few notes, first:
- Looking for Purdue? They played last weekend.
- Looking for Indiana? They played last night.
- Looking for Northwestern? Not doing one.
- Looking for Iowa? Half the state is under water, and Kirk doesn’t have a contract bonus for hosting spring games.
The Schedule
Ohio State Buckeyes
11am | BTN
It appears Land Grant Holy Land is much more excited about this than we are.
Minnesota Golden Gophers
11am | BTN2Go (and BTN tape delay)
Game got moved inside; no one cares.
wisconsin badgers
12pm | BTN2Go (and BTN tape delay)
Things you will learn from this game: Jonathan Taylor—still really good, even if he doesn’t play (which he doesn’t need to).
Things you will not learn from this game: Who the starting quarterback is—whether Fumblin’ Jack Coan, Graham Mertz, or whoever else is on the roster.
Michigan State Spartans
1pm | BTN2Go (tape delay on BTN)
Nah.
Nebraska Cornhuskers
1pm | BTN
Scott Frost! Cornhusker football! Preseason expectations! Will Frost bring a cat onto the field? Who will be the starting running back? Is there a defense? Our Nebraska writers stopped by yesterday to preview it for you:
Illinois Fighting Illini
2pm | BTN2Go (tape delay on BTN)
There is, apparently, a market for this game.
Penn State Nittany Lions
2pm | BTN2Go, GoPSUsports.com
If you’re interested in writing about Penn State sports, let us know at minnesota wildcat at gmail dot com.
Anyway, in the meantime, 87townie thinks there’s one really good reason to watch the Penn State spring game, and it’s a throwback to football days gone by:
Rutgers Scarlet Knights
2pm | BTN2Go (tape delay on BTN)
Things seem fine:
ZuzuRU: This is how it’s gonna go down for RU this year. The non QB areas are gonna be improved, but our QB situation will be god awful. Therefore, we will perform awfully.
[Chris] Ash is in way over his head and he knows it. And I’m just pissed at the overall situation given this year is #CFB150. Gonna admit I’m pissed at our AD who I otherwise love for not being prudent enough to make sure Rutgers is in a good place for the 150. He should have let Ash go already.
Michigan Wolverines
4pm | BTN2Go; MGoBlue.com
Apparently this is the bare minimum, which still feels like it’s being broadcast and opened against Jim Harbaugh’s will. Can’t be giving away secrets of how they’re going to finish third in the East this year.
