Michigan Baseball Postpones Off-Season

Or at least they postponed the depression

NCAA Baseball: College World Series-Michigan vs Texas Tech Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

I am a college fan. I’ll watch some pro sports, but that is limited. Once college football and basketball are in the books, I watch the NBA finals and then the NBA draft, mainly to see where all the college players I love end up. Then depression kicks in as I realize what is up next...

The long, cold, dark depressing days until the college football season kicks off and I can live again. There are very few things more American than spending half of a Saturday watching a traditional power beat the crap out of a lesser funded program that actually cares about schooling. Of course when that lesser funded school beats said powerhouse, well that IS America, but that is the subject for another day.

However, there was a respite this year, from an unlikely place. The Michigan baseball Wolverines did a thing. They have made me watch college baseball. They trashed a Big 12ish school to make it to the College World Series Finals.

Depression will wait, I have something to root for again!

As of this writing an SEC team is battling an ACC team to take on Michigan. It doesn’t matter which team wins, I will be rooting hard for them to beat Michigan. Generally, I root for the Big Ten as a whole, but not when it comes to Michigan.

This got me thinking, how many of you will be rooting for Michigan? I’ll do a poll. Of course I am going to ask Michigan fans to abstain.

Will you root for Michigan to win the College World Series, Presented By Omaha Mutual on the ESPN, Courtesy of Billy Ray’s Chevrolet World, On CSNBCS?
