OTE’s Way Too Late To Be Way Too Early College Football Top 25 Rankings for 2021

NCAA Football: College Football Playoff National Championship-Clemson vs Louisiana State Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

It’s a complete waste of time to put rankings to the 2020 college football season already. With that being established, I’m not going to waste your time on such trivial matters. Everyone else already has.

What we’re going to do is look at 2021 for some wAaAaY tOoO eArLyYyY rankings.

My methodology is sound.

1: Alabama Crimson Tide

Everyone’s giving Clemson the nod in next year’s rankings, and if that means they win the national title, the #1 team will become Alabama. Seems like a safe enough bet.

2: Ohio State Buckeyes

The top quarterback in the 2020 recruiting class is committed to Alabama, so it’ll be interesting watching his sophomore year in Columbus.

3: Penn State Nittany Lions

The amount of adversity they will have fought through will be staggering.

4: Georgia Bulldogs

Ooooh just you wait and see. Kirby will win the title with 2009 Alabama one of these days.

5: Clemson Tigers

Look at my big fat brain dropping Clemson to #5 after their presumptive national championship.

6: Texas Longhorns

Sure, they underacheived again, but that surprising bowl win might be the spark they need to put it all together!

7: Michigan Wolverines

This Groundhog Day, things will be different. Michigan is a top 10 team until such time that they prove otherwise. This is an immutable law.

8: LSU Tigers

Coasting on residuals

9: Notre Dame Fighting Irish

See Michigan Wolverines

10: Oklahoma Sooners

“Yes, but THIS time, their defensive problems are going to MATTER,” he kept telling himself

11: Oregon Ducks

RIGHT RIGHT, AND THEN THERE’S A CONFERENCE OUT WEST

12: Florida Gators

Oops, I forgot to put a fourth SEC team in the top 10

13: Auburn Tigers

There we go, let’s overcompensate for that with a run on them right here. They tried to fire Gus again, didn’t they?

14: Texas A&M Aggies

Ahhh, that’s much better. The SEC is DEEP this year.

15: Wisconsin Badgers

The first one of The Other Guys from the Big Ten appears

16: USC Trojans

When they lose, you have to find another PAC-12 team to put in their spot. NO, IT’S NOT JUST A ONE HORSE RACE I PROMISE

17: Boise State Broncos

Sure, why not

18: Virginia Tech Hokies

Let’s see if we can’t manufacture a conference rival for Clemson.

19: Florida State Seminoles

I mean, there’s two teams that ought to be doing something by now, right?

20: Cincinnati Bearcats

Provided they’re still a standardbearer for G5

21: Iowa State Cyclones

Boy, imagine the heights Matt Campbell could reach!

22: Nebraska Cornhuskers

Probably underrated

23: Tennessee Volunteers

Gotta have an SEC team nobody’s really sure about

24: Iowa Hawkeyes

They won either 8 or 9 regular season games

25: Michigan State Spartans

Hear me out: there’s no good reason for this.

Not Receiving Votes: Indiana Hoosiers

There is nothing that could happen between now and August 2021 that would put Indiana in my top 25.
