B1G 2020: Penn State vs Reality

In this week's mailbag I asked, "How much football will I watch this year?" That's a very sincere question. As of this writing, I have yet to watch any football at all, and I haven't missed it. Like last year, I am outside the US this season. To watch the games live, I'm either staying up late on a school night, waking up in the middle of the night, or waking up hours early to catch the night game. Adding my concerns about public safety, I am finding it difficult to be part of what I consider the problem.

Opt-Outs/Opt-Back-Ins

I think just Micah Parsons has opted out of the season. Rumors flew about Pat Freiermuth last month, but he blew those up like a pass rushing Safety. Journey Brown and Jayson Oweh also ended speculation by returning, though I am now reading Brown may be out for the season due to a discovered medical issue.

Nice having a couple bye weeks between Ohio State and Iowa.

Let's be honest. When you clicked on this article, you fully expected my dumb ass to predict Penn State going undefeated, right? Well, you were correct.

An 8-0 regular season is a lock. The B1G West challenger can't stop this juggernaut, and Penn State dismantles their CFP opponents Alabama and BYU.
