Where We Be, What We Be Drinking: Week “9”

Is Indiana playing for a championship? No. But are we still going to have fun? Also no.

Hi, hello, and welcome to this season’s final edition of Where We Be, What We Be Drinking: the weekly segment where we usually talk abut tailgating and watching football with friends and family. Unfortunately we live in hellworld and instead we’re alone and bored (but probably still drunk.

Half the games have been cancelled and we were cheated out of an Indiana championship game. It’s rough out there, but let’s try to make the best of it this week. May your beer be unending and your Pizza Hut be oily. Let’s see what everyone is up to.

The Iowa-Michigan game was cancelled, but the basketball team has a noon (my time) tipoff against Gonzaga and honestly I was looking forward to that more than a puntfest with the worst team in the East division anyway so I think I’ll survive. After that if the weather’s clear I think I’m heading to Shenandoah National Park to get some fresh air.

I’ll be at home in Chicago with my wife, drinking non-alcoholic beer as she’s nearing her due date.

Home, watching basketball, why is something else on?

Working this weekend, have to catch up after my vacation. It’s no longer hot enough to brew sun tea, so I think I’ll try my hand at cold brew coffee.

I will be in Greensboro and I just realized that I might actually be around in front of a tv and watching a bunch of games. For the first time this “season.” What a weird year.

Home. Couch. Wife works. I’ll be drunk off my ass, probably?I grabbed a three crowler set from Pantown Brewing in Saint Cloud, including a Black IPA that I’m really excited to try. Will likely grab a smoked sour from Waldmann Brewing and then sink into the comfort of my couch as I house a bucket of popcorn, knock back those and some Indeed Daytripper Pale Ale, and move on to the Malört when it gets out of hand in the third quarter.

A good chunk family has actually been fairly responsible during THESE UNCERTAIN TIMES, asks it being the holidays and all, kicked up our quarantines all got tested (all negative), and are having a small gathering (11 total). I’m smoking a turkey, presents, small kids, but probably very little football.

That’s it for us. Happy Holidays, and don’t forget to leave a comment below about how you’re spending this stupid excuse for a game day.
