Alright. We're back, and we're trying some stuff.
I skipped Bowl Projections in 2020, because there was no point to (1) that season, and (2) trying to figure out who would be eligible or sick or fabricate a "vote" that would keep the Nebraska Cornhuskers out of a bowl game they were totally gonna go to, you guys.
Why a Fanpost? Because the other editing build-ins from SBNation are frustrating when it comes to the Bowl Projections table. So we're going to try it like this and see how it goes. Maybe next week it'll be a regular article. You don't actually care, I just wanted to complain. Moving on.

B1G Thoughts
- That's right, one-loss Penn State makes it to the College Football Playoff. Where will the one loss come from? Who cares. Maybe at Ohio State. Or at Iowa. But...
- The Buckeyes take a second loss somewhere. Oh dear God...could it be at Nebraska?
- Out of the West comes Iowa, which we know, but for now let's go with a loss to Penn State and a loss in the Big Ten title game...probably to Penn State again? These are Post-Week 5 bowl projections and if you take them seriously, it's time to take a look in the mirror (or, Iowa fans, that broken glass on your double-wide) and think about your priorities.
- I had already typed the Michigan State bit below before realizing I forgot to talk about Michigan.
- Is Michigan State actually good? Probably not. Is that enough to scrape one of the best bowl games in the conference because the PSU-Iowa-OSU-Michigan quartet could having rankings inertia to make the Top 12? Uh... Enjoy Arkansas, Sparty!
- 6-6 Nebraska? With Minnesota, Purdue, and wisconsin on the schedule, it's eminently possible. The resurgent Husker fanbase descend on Tampa and allow Frost to visit his family.
- Sure, Minnesota gets Maryland, Northwestern, Illinois, and Indiana for potential wins. Is 7-5 enough for the Gophers to leapfrog out of the Glen Mason Memorial Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl and into the Outback? Nah.
- Oh, right, it's also not enough to get them over 6-6 wisconsin, who can do enough to get past Illinois, Army, Purdue, Rutgers, and Minnesota even with
one hand tied behind their backsGraham Mertz, which come to think of it is a great way to get him to just hand the damn ball off and stop throwing. Someone get Paul Chryst on the phone, stat! - Also consider who you'd rather have descending on Vegas: Minnesota fans or wisconsin fans. Let's put our drunkest foot forward.
- As I now consider how Maryland will get to those two remaining wins, uh...this may have been a mistake. But let's say Indiana and Rutgers. Sure? That's 6 wins and good enough to keep Locks and the boys close to home.
- Could Indiana hypothetically win 4 of their last 5 (@MD, @Mich, RU, MN, @PU) to go bowling? I mean...maybe?
- Relax, Purdue faithful--I see your run-in, too (wisc, @UNL, MSU, @OSU, @NU, Ind)...tell me which three, show your work, and I'll give you credit for having shown up to class.
