Fair warning: I’m working off two hours of sleep, so these could be just out of nowhere. But now that we’ve seen the new College Football Playoff rankings come out, uh...has Gary Barta gotten any, either?
Who has any idea what to expect, right?

B1G Thoughts
- Well, if Ohio State is surely going to beat Sparty, let’s just keep them slotted in the CFP. They get SEC runner-up Alabama, who only falls to #3 after losing to Georgia in the SEC Championship because, of course, It Just Means More.

As long as they play Cincinnati, I don’t care what number they are
- If Oregon actually gets into the CFP, condolences to the Big Ten representative—here, Michigan State—in the Rose Bowl, because the second-best Pac-12 team is...Utah? Arizona State? Washington State? All of them have three losses, and only one—the Utes—has only one Pac-12 loss.
- I’m assuming an OSU win over Michigan State and then ranked wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship Game is enough to vault them over ‘Bama. Enjoy the Buckeyes running up those style points, whoever wins the West...you get the Citrus as a result.

Someone else (comments, kids)
- As always—until proven otherwise, Minnesota remains behind Iowa and wisconsin in the West.
- I hear there’s some Elvis guy who’s an Iowa fan. You’re welcome, buddy. Feel free to mail me my ticket to accompany you to Vegas.
- Penn State remains a bit of a confounder here—I would be inclined to keep the Lions on the East Coast, especially somewhere accessible like a Tampa, rather than shuttling them across the country to Vegas. They also seem a little too good for...
- The Glen Mason Memorial Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl, where Peejus and the Fightin’ Rowers will face...well, apparently I didn’t bother to update their opponent. So it’s still Arkansas. You get what you pay for.
- Congrats to Maryland, who now needs to turtle for three weeks, avoid any injuries, and beat Rutgers. What could go wrong?

- Speaking of, Purdue and Kansas State could be the world’s most “who gives a fuck?” bowl game, and I’ve projected one between Oregon State and Pitt.
