Don't let this^ happen again.

With another B1G football season approaching, another B1G Survivor pool begins. This year I'll be taking the reigns over for this competition from BradNortmansActingCoach. Thank you BNAC for creating this iconic Off Tackle Empire contest and running it for so many years.

Congratulations again to last year's champion, Whipples, who emerged victorious over 101 other entrants, winning via 2 tiebreakers in the last week of the regular season. Let's see if anyone can best that this year.

The rules are going to be the same as last year. Once again, we will be combining weeks O and weeks 1. There are 3 Big Ten teams playing in 2 week 0 games this year: Nebraska vs Northwestern and Wyoming vs Illinois. If you choose one of these two games, please specify both whom you are picking and over which opponent, for example: NU over NU Nebraska over Northwestern or vice versa or Illinois over Wyoming. Otherwise if you just pick a B1G team I will assume the pick is for week 1.

Also, please be mindful of dates and kickoff times as the deadline for making your pick is the announced kickoff time of the game you choose to pick.

As for the rest of the rules, I'll refer back to the venerable BradNortmansActingCoach from last year's post:

The rules for the game are pretty simple, and follow most standard Survivor/Eliminator pools. You pick one B1G team each week. If that team wins, you move on to the next week, but cannot pick that team again for the rest of the season. If your pick loses, youŕe out. Since there are 14 weeks in the B1G season (including championship week), you´ll have to reserve Ohio St your presumed champion for week 14 if you wish to complete a perfect season.

If all remaining players get eliminated the same week, the tiebreaker rules are as follows (same as previous years):

1. Best combined winning %age of B1G teams you haven´t used

2. Strength of Victory (non FBS teams´ records get converted to 0-for)

3. Whomever got their losing pick in first

Finally, you can only pick against any particular team a maximum of 3 times.

And now, here are games. All times are Eastern. Good luck!

Week O:

Saturday, August 27, 2022 12:30 pm Nebraska vs Northwestern

Saturday, August 27, 2022 4:00 pm Wyoming vs Illinois

Week 1:

Thursday, September 1, 2022 8:00 pm Penn State vs Purdue

Thursday, September 1, 2022 9:00 pm New Mexico State vs Minnesota

Friday, September 2, 2022 7:00 pm Western Michigan vs Michigan State

Friday, September 2, 2022 8:00 pm Illinois vs Indiana

Saturday, September 3, 2022 12:00 pm Buffalo vs Maryland

Saturday, September 3, 2022 12:00 pm Colorado State vs Michigan

Saturday, September 3, 2022 12:00 pm Rutgers vs Boston College

Saturday, September 3, 2022 12:00 pm South Dakota State vs Iowa

Saturday, September 3, 2022 3:30 pm North Dakota vs Nebraska

Saturday, September 3, 2022 7:00 pm Illinois State vs Wisconsin

Saturday, September 3, 2022 7:30 pm Notre Dame vs Ohio State

My week one pick: Minnesota. I'll probably regret later picking the Gophers this early, but I wanted a safe week one pick and they are favored by over 4 touchdowns.
