Congrats to Purdue for being the overall #1 seed this update. After losing their first game after being ranked #1 this season and after being ranked #1 last season, Purdue won their first game after being ranked this week #1 the second time this season. Purdue leads the country with eight Quad 1 wins. Should Purdue finish the overall #1 seed, most likely they will be in the South Regional and not the Midwest because Louisville is way closer to West Lafayette than Kansas City.
Since my last update, both Houston and Kansas lost at home (Kansas got thumped, Houston lost to Temple, a Quad 3 loss). Gonzaga also lost at home. The Big 12 has been the best conference this year but they were shut out of the #1 line (they did receive three #2 seeds, one #3, and two #4's!) They are starting to cannibalize each other, no one has fewer than two conference losses now.
The Big Ten leads with nine bids (last week they had eight). All nine are in the top 50 of the NET rankings.
