Michigan State Spartans 86, Georgia Southern Eagles 55

MaximumSam: The Eagles had 11 points at halftime. But they had 44 after halftime. If they played another half and they scored 176 points, they might have won.

Maryland Terrapins 103, Rider Broncs 76

MaximumSam: Maryland successfully won their creampuff games to get above .500. Next up - back on the road to Indiana.

Purdue Boilermakers 99, Texas Southern 67

MaximumSam: Purdue Future Mutant Will Berg got in and scored 7 points with three rebounds. He’s a 7’2’’ redhead and we should be brainstorming nicknames now.

BoilerUp89: He's from Sweden, so I think Iceberg is appropriate. Braden Smith flirted with a triple double (19 points, 10 assists, 9 rebounds) but didn't play the final 10 minutes as Painter sought to get the bench some minutes both for development and as a reward for their work in the program. One thing that I'm noticing this season: the Boilers are pushing the pace when they see opportunities.

#312 Central Michigan Chippewas at #30 Ohio State Buckeyes (-24.5), 6 pm, BTN

MaximumSam: Tonight’s opponents have six times as many wins as last night’s, though it’s unclear if they are actually any better. Tony Barbee’s Central Michigan squad does sport a win over South Florida. They have a steady point guard in Tulsa transfer Anthony Pritchard, who leads the team in points and has a 40% assist rate (which for non-Poindexter types, is very good). They will try to force turnovers to the detriment of everything else, and they commit a bunch of turnovers, so a loosey goosey game is likely. Torvik goes Bucks, 83-60.

#320 North Florida Ospreys at #45 Iowa Hawkeyes (-24.5), 8 pm, BTN

MaximumSam: The Ospreys come in with a winning record, at least, even if their best win is over stalwart Maine. They have something somewhat rare in the basketball world, which is a handful of players who have been with the program for a while. Don’t foul them - they are third in the land in free throw percentage. They also love shooting threes, so Iowa might want to play some def...shut up self, why would you even think that? Torvik goes Hawkeyes, 95-69.
