Rose Bowl, Citrus Bowl, ReliaQuest Bowl: Time, TV, How to Watch, Open Thread for Iowa, Wisconsin, and Michigan Football

A pair of the Big Ten West’s “finest”, plus cheatin’-ass Michigan. Should be a good time?

Wisconsin Badgers vs. #13 LSU Tigers

ReliaQuest Bowl: Raymond James Stadium (Tampa, FL)
11am | ESPN2 | LSU -10 | O/U 55.5

WSR: Who need analysis when you can just say “fuck wisconsin.” Fuck Brian Kelly, too.

#8 Oregon Ducks

Fiesta Bowl: State Farm Stadium (Glendale, AZ)
12pm | ESPN | Oregon -17 | O/U 67.5

WSR: Go Ducks. Go everyone who isn’t that other team.

MNW: The only truly baffling Oregon bowl loss in recent times was their 2021 Fiesta Bowl loss to #10 Iowa State. I’m still not sure that those last few words even go together in that order.

Outside of that, let us never forget the silliness of the 2003 Sun Bowl, in which Minnesota pipped the Ducks by a point thanks to a late Rhys Lloyd field goal (WSR note: and apocalyptically bad time management from Mike Bellotti) . Man, I loved that guy.

#17 Iowa Hawkeyes vs. #21 Tennessee Volunteers

Citrus Bowl: Camping World Stadium (Orlando, FL)
12pm | ABC | Tennesee -5.5 | O/U 35.5

MNW: Let’s not forget the most important moment in this storied rivalry:

WSR: I am personally saddened that this will be the last time Brian Ferentz gets to sabotage the amazing work Phil Parker does. I hope Kirk’s next choice can be just as insipid.

#4 Alabama Crimson Tide vs. #1 Michigan Wolverines

Rose Bowl (Pasadena, CA)

* Also the College Football Playoff

4pm | ESPN | Michigan -2 | O/U 44.5

WSR: Is there any good reason to cheer for Michigan here? Harbaugh was on the verge of getting fired, so he started REALLY cheating his ass off. He continues to offer full-throated support of a coach who covered up decades of sexual assaults (including his own adopted son), and the fans and players are just blatantly ignorant (fans: “We are Michigan. We’re above cheating,” players: “Michigan against everyone”). Lackwits everywhere. Roll Tide.

#3 Texas Longhorns vs. #2 Washington Huskies

Sugar Bowl: Caesars Superdome (New Orleans, LA)
7:45pm | ESPN | Texas -4 | O/U 63.5

WSR: I’m actually excited for this one. Will Washington’s OL be able to hold up against the Texas interior DL? Can the Longhorn DBs do their job against the Husky WRs? Does the other side of the ball even matter in this game?

MNW: To be honest, 63.5 feels low. So let’s get good and weird.
